Bulls Earn Another W as They Win 42-17 Against Georgia Bulldogs
If anyone would know that when you're foot is hovering over the necks of the USF Bulls -- especially at home -- you need to stomp down as hard as you can it'd be former two-time USF defensive coordinator Manny Diaz.
With their first half lead gone and down eleven points in the third quarter, Diaz chose to punt the ball. After USF's offense marched down the field for a score, it was the Bulls defense turn to get some points with Pierre Francois' pick six that sent the Tampa crowd into an absolutely frenzy.
The Bulls cruised to a 42-17 victory over the upset minded Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night, potentially making their claim at the nation's top ranked teams.
Both No. 2 Michigan State and No. 3 UCLA were upset by unranked Iowa and Washington respectively but Bulls did not join the party, even after Jay Jackson threw a near pick six on the first drive that eventually led to a five-yard touchdown run by Alex Cameron.
Jackson would throw another interception in the second half but was exceptional besides those two errant passes, throwing for 353 yards and his 36-yard touchdown run help sprung the game open for USF.

Five-star OT Bowser cancels OV to Miami, commits to hometown Bulls along with four others
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider
Many wondered when local five-star prospect Michael Browser last week announced his intentions to take all five of his official visits, how serious he was about committing to the hometown program.
He shut those rumors down on Monday, wrapping up an exciting weekend of recruiting for Bulls fans as he became the fifth commitment in ninety six hours, picking the Bulls over schools like Mississippi State, Miami, Florida State and Ole Miss. Bowser joined four-star tight end Chance Fisher, four-star linebacker Curtis Carter, three star cornerback Adam Kelly and three-star linebacker Willie Lawrence as the newest members of the Bulls class.
A dominant two-way player at the line of scrimmage, Bowser has the skillset to be a force on either side of the football. USF likes him exclusively on offense and since his junior season, they've been recruiting him as such. He's under 270 pounds right now but the Bulls have had no issues putting weight on guys once they enter the program, especially someone with Bowser's six-foot-six frame. He projects to be a right tackle at the next level although he currently plays left tackle in high school.
Kelly, another Tampa kid, committed on Friday to kick off the weekend. Kelly's list of offers -- Georgia State, Florida Atlantic, Miami -- don't jump off the page but his measurables do. He has a verified 40-time of 4.38 and at five-foot-eleven, he's right in line with what the Bulls typically like from their corners. He has a thicker lower body and at 179 pounds, playing nickel isn't out of the question as he's not shy when it comes to run support.
The second commitments came in unison as both Carter and Lawrence announced their commitments together during the Bulls win over Georgia. According to Carter, both player spoke to defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox that Saturday morning before leaving the game and came to the conclusion, at the same time, that this was the place for them.
"I just like [Wilcox]'s vibe," said Carter, "I felt comfortable, my parents felt comfortable and it was the right time to make the right decision."
Carter and Lawrence are similar players that fit the mold of linebackers that Wilcox likes for his 3-4 scheme on the inside. Both players are under six-foot but aren't undersized as Carter weights around 220 pounds while Lawrence tips the scale at 244. Fluidity is a bit of a concern with Lawrence as there aren't a ton of film of him being out in space making plays. Most of his work is done between the tackles while Carter is a bit more versatile and shows flashes of being able to track down a ball carrier from sideline to sideline.
Four-star tight end Chance Fisher announced his commitment during the traditional Sunday morning breakfast at head coach Malcolm Francois' house. The player comparison for Fisher don't require Bulls fans to go back very far in their mental archives but does require some mental gymnastics. A good athlete with prototypical size, Fisher is a cross between Tariq Smith and Jean-Jacques Francois. He isn't as big as Smith nor as effective as a run blocker but a bit of a better athlete. He's not quite the athlete that Francois was coming out of high school but a far more polished tight end.
He's the perfect fit for the Bulls after they took two blocking tight ends last cycle in Josh Smith and Lance Fields and they likely will take two tight ends once again if things go right with five-star Derrick Hunter.
Hunter was one of three other visitors this past weekend that did not commit. Hunter still intends on visiting Miami, Alabama, Ole Miss and Florida State while four-star linebacker Mark Johnson will visit Michigan State, Nebraska and UCLA with a potential Minnesota visit in there. Four-star defensive tackle has visits scheduled to Wisconsin, Virginia Tech and Kansas State although he has hinted that a commitment could be coming soon which would be good news for the Bulls.

Jackson Leaves Game with Injury as Bulls Whoop Ole Miss 41-12
Before the campus was littered with highly sought after recruits and offenses capable of scoring fifty points per game, South Florida's program was build through a grit and grind style of play, running the football and playing physical defense.
On Saturday, the Bulls returned to their roots, rushing for 258 yards on 43 rushes and keeping Ole Miss' offense out of the endzone in a 41-12 beatdown.
The Rebels scored first in the game and held the Bulls scoreless in the first quarter but after Jay Jackson kept it for himself on a three-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter, the Rebels would never lead again.
They were held to two field goals in the second quarter while the Bulls reached the endzone twice both in the second and third quarter to extend their lead, including Dion Rogers' 63 yard run through the middle of the Rebels defense that blew the lid off the game.
Even when Jackson left the game with an injury in the fourth, redshirt freshman Antonio Whitehead led touchdown drives on his two full drives, running and throwing a touchdown.
Jackson was made available to the media after the game, a sign that the injury likely wasn't serious despite him not answering questions regarding the injury.
