MILWAUKEE (AP) After a big win over the Miami Heat to start the season, PJ Rose (16.5ppg, 8.2apg) and the Milwaukee Bucks have flat lined with their fourth loss in a row. The schedule has been pretty tough with their past three opponents all participating in the playoffs last season, including the reigning champions.

The Bucks found themselves down by a double digits early as they struggled to get their three point game working in their favor, shooting just 1 for 10 from beyond the arc in the first half. The Knicks were letting it fly from downtown hitting 5 threes in the second quarter, pushing their lead to 19 points, which they maintained until the final buzzer.

A bright spot for Milwaukee tonight was their second round pick from Duke, Victor Woods. Woods had a season high of 15 points tonight.

Rose was locked up by Baldwin most of the night, being held to just 11 points in the loss.

Noah Baldwin on playing against PJ Rose: It was fun. I grew up watching his dad and my uncle play together in Chicago. I see flashes of D. Rose’s game in his for sure. He got me with the hesi, but he couldn’t drain the shot. That would have been a highlight for sure. I told him just keep working. He’s gonna be a real problem for some people in a couple seasons.

Rumor Mill Spins Again

“Yo, where mine at?” Remy yelled across the locker room as he pointed to my sneakers. We were getting ready to head onto the court for shoot around. Nike sent over a pair of my Noah 3’s in a custom Joker colorway to celebrate the theatrical release of Batman: Three Jokers. I mentioned in an interview that The Killing Joke was one of my favorite, and first, comics that I had ever read. Before I knew it, I had a text from my primary designer, Rox Brown, asking what I thought about a Joker colorway for the release of the movie. I’ve been holding these shoes for like two weeks.

“One of one right now, my guy. PE’s for yours truly.”

“Stop acting like you couldn’t make this happen for your boy. I’m on the brand too. I can’t believe you didn’t put us on these new kicks, Noah.” He picks up the other shoe and holds it up. “These are nice, man. Right, Angelo?”

“I’m not going to stress him. I just got my first pairs of shoes last week.” Angelo joked.

I held out my first and Angelo tapped his fist against mine. “Why can’t you be patient like this man, Remy?”

“I’m just saying. What good is it having my best friend as the plug?”

“I can’t give away all the goods, fam. I gotta keep a lil somethin’ close to the vest for myself.”

“That’s cold.”

“Why so serious?” I laughed before picking up my phone and sent out a text. I got a reply just seconds later. “Special delivery for you on Friday, my guy.”

“Appreciate that, Noah.”

“You know I always got you, Remy.”

“So, the team is shopping me?” Remy said as he walked into my condo. I was stretched out on the couch with my head in Kori’s lap as we watched The Dark Knight. After the premiere of Three Jokers, I was in heavy Batman mode. Isabelle was spending the weekend with one of her friends from school, so we were having a lazy Saturday.

“I’m starting to regret giving you a key to my place.”

“Noah, I’m serious, man. Have you heard anything? Check your phone.”

I paused the movie before I grabbed my iPhone from the coffee table, but I didn’t see any text messages. I went to social media and Shams posted a tweet saying the Sixers are interested in acquiring Remy from us.

I shot a quick text to Coach Silas to see if he knew anything before sitting up. Kori gave me a kiss on the cheek before going into the bedroom to give us some space.

“I wasn’t trying to crash y’all moment or whatever. But what the hell, man?”

Remy’s production was down this season and he had lost his starting job to Julian Strawther this season. And the dude had been putting up some good numbers, but Remy was still a solid contributor off the bench. Dude, didn’t complain about losing the spot. He just kept working.

“Just relax, man. It said the Sixers were interested, not that we were interested. Landry may have told them no already.”

“But maybe he didn’t. Maybe he’s considering it. We ain’t all signed five year extensions this summer.”

“I’m gonna let that shit slide because you’re spiraling about these trade rumors.”

“I said what I said, Noah. You already know what’s it’s about to be.”

“Man, I play my game and you play yours. It’s not my fault that Julian got the starting job. You’re still giving decent production off the bench. I’m feeding you every chance I get when we’re on the floor together.”

“And how often is that?”

“I don’t set the damn rotation, Rem.”

“You out here backing the new guys. Making sure Angelo and everybody else is straight. You not worried about me and Mike.”

“Man, I back every damn body! One through fourteen. I’m just trying to make sure everyone is comfortable in the system. You just need to get in the gym and work. Make the most of your opportunities, same as before.”

“Whatever, Noah. Your career is already set. Nobody is coming in here and taking your job. They want you to retire a Knick. The rest of us are just collateral.”

“You talking crazy right now, bro,” I said. I don’t know what’s going on with Remy, but he’s definitely moving different. Ever since his back injury in the NBA Finals last year. I just thought it was a little rust from the summer. “We can get some work in tomorrow if you want.”

“You don’t have to do me any favors, Noah.”

“You know it’s not even like that. I know you were laid up most of the summer and I wasn’t even in town…”

“Don’t worry about it.”

He turned to leave.

“You know I always got you. You my bro, my ace, Rem.” He didn’t respond. I sat on the couch and stared at the closed door. Like I was waiting on him to come back through and say he was fucking around and he’d see me at the gym at one o’clock. But that didn’t happen. Kori came in a few seconds later and sat next to me.

“From the look on your face, I take it you didn’t resolve whatever was bothering him.”

“No,” I sighed. “I mean, I’m not on some LeBron shit telling management who to trade and who to keep, no matter how much Mitchell Robinson tried to blame me for Wen being traded to Vegas. And I get that he’s nervous about trade rumors. No one wants to hear that shit. And of course so many guys always have it play out on social media before the team talks to them directly.”

“So, what are you gonna do?”

“Give him space to process, but I’m gonna be there for him. Like always. That’s my mans, a hundred grand. I don’t even know who we would want from Philly to be honest with you. He would be an upgrade for them though. Shit, he could probably start for like ten teams. If it’s best for him at the end of the day, then I have to respect it, but you know I want us to be like Jordan and Pippen out here. But I’ll give him a few days to let this all blow over.”

I picked up the remote and started the movie again. I hope these rumors just stay rumors.
