Bulls land their QB target, four-star LB Love and DT Faulk
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider
With the South Florida Bulls getting ready to travel to Tuscaloosa for one of the biggest games in school history, the coaching staff got some added joy as they prepare for the Crimson Tide.
Four-star defensive tackle James Faulk and four-star linebacker Danny Love committed to the Bulls on Sunday before three-star quarterback Jay Jackson joined them on Monday. All three had been on campus for Notre Dame week and USF was considered the favorite in all of their recruitments.
Love had been hinting at his commitment for a while, wearing USF branded gloves in his last two high school games. A local product of Tampa Christian, Love has the prototypical size for a 3-4 inside linebacker at six-foot-four and 238 pounds. The only question is will he be able to cover at the next level, something he hasn't done a ton of at Texas Christian. A move to the line of scrimmage is not out of the question for Love but he'll get a chance to break through at linebacker.
Speaking of size, both Love and Faulk could walk into the NFL Combine today and not look out of place from a physique standpoint. Faulk is a lengthy defensive tackle at 275 pounds that still relies heavily on his brute strength to be able to get after the quarterback. He's not the most athletic defensive tackle in the class but he is one of the more dominant ones. With space limited in this class, the Bulls are investing heavily on reinforcing that front seven and they can't go wrong with landing two of the top ten defensive tackle this cycle.
Jackson is the anti-thesis of Faulk and Love. While he lacks ideal size at five-foot-eleven, he is one of the more agile quarterbacks in the state of Florida. Jackson isn't small by any means as he's a legit 200 pounder and has a strong lower frame which allows him to fight through contact and be able to rush for over 2,000 yards as a quarterback. The former Edison product transferred to Cardinal Gibbons for his senior season and has shown improvements as a passer. Jackson is probably one of the more natural fits for the offense that head coach Malcolm Francois has typically ran. The only question is will Francois still be the play-caller by the time Jackson is the QB?
With the QB of the class secured, where does that leave USF with some of their offensive targets? Five-star WRs Jason Barbour and Darius Downs have made it known and clear that they're going to take their visits, all five of them. Barbour is expected to be on campus for the Oklahoma State game while Downs is targeting visiting for the TCU game.
Four-star running back Jason Finley is expected to be at the Oklahoma State game as are three-star offensive linemen Marcus Clark and Robbie Wade.

Bulls Make a Goal Line Stand, Survive a Thrilling 27-21 Game Against Alabama
With the ball at the one-yard line, Kevin Sherer and his coaching staff chose to throw into the endzone as opposed to running it in with four seconds left.
USF true freshman defensive back Jake Lott was able to lay out and break up the pass, securing the Bulls' 27-21 win over Alabama.
Phillip Griffin had rushed for 149 yards up to that point and the younger Griffin, Neil, had also started to find success in the fourth quarter as Alabama was making its comeback. Sherer's decision was the first major one of his tenure as the Tide's coach and one that will likely be scrutinized for weeks on end.
The Bulls had taken a 21-10 lead in the third quarter thanks to William Stone who scored three straight touchdowns. Stone finished the game with 154 yards receiving and 85 yards rushing, striking the Heisman pose after his final touchdown.

5-star DB Ware, 4-star OT Wright leave Bulls out of top schools
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider
USF has been able to go across the nation a few times to land a couple of talented prospects, five-star safety Kelvin Ware won't be one of them.
Ware released his top three schools this past weekend and USF, as expected, was not included. The number one ranked safety had USC, Michigan and Alabama. Offensive tackle Parker Wright out of Gainesville released a top two and USF, once again, was not included. Instead, it's going to be a battle between Minnesota and Florida. The Gophers have put together the nation's top recruiting class with two five-star receivers already signed.
USF is also growing cold with top two centers Ed Cade and M.J. Williams. They've instead started to focus on three-stars Marcus Clark and Robbie Wade among the offensive line.

Run of the Bulls ‣ USF Football News
Andrew Lake -- 247 Sports Staff Writer
‣ Freshman RB Fuller could miss rest of season with chest injury
USF running back David Fuller tore his pectoral in practice last week, causing him to miss the Alabama game.
Fuller had 79 yards rushing on the season and was a five-star running back from the previous recruiting cycle. Gerald Mitchell has been dealing with an elbow injury as well, causing him to miss most of the Alabama game. The team relied on another five-star true freshman in Derrick Green who rushed for over 100 yards against the Tide.
Mitchell is expected to be back into the lineup this week against Oklahoma State.
‣ Sophomore LB Reed hints at dissatisfaction with lack of playing time
Despite beating Alabama and playing more than he had in previous week, sophomore linebacker John Reed took to Twitter to relay a rather cryptic tweet.
"They gonna feel me when I'm gone!"
Reed started last season as a true freshman, recording 43 tackles and 9 tackles for loss. He lost his starting spot this year to true freshman Dallas Gross, who already has 40 tackles on the season.
‣ Stone makes Heisman claim with celebration, will Vegas take notice?
Junior receiver William Stone splashed onto the national consciousness this past weekend with his three-touchdown performance, stamping it with a Heisman pose.
The latest Heisman odds still don't have Stone listed but his case is getting stronger by the week. Stone is second in the Big 12 in receptions and fourth in yards while also being second in the Big 12 in yards per carry. There's a lot of football left to be played but Stone is on track for a 1,048 yards receiving campaign along with 750 yards rushing in the regular season alone.
With a lot of the tougher matchups out of the way, opportunities will be plenty for Stone to rack up some yardage and touchdowns.
