Just trying to catch up here @ redsox907. Ace has been slaying in here. Must have a nice skillset to play with. Have not played 2k26 yet so don't know. Absolutely love those Jazz uniforms. Bought a Jazz practice T in the purple a few weeks back. Tough tough season for you at 15-18 which is to be expected. But some shoots of hope.

Edit: love the Boozer Bros being on the team!
he's a great shooter, but he gets streaky from 3 and it can kill us when he's off. But overall, for a 2nd year player he's killing it. Jazz uniforms are always top tier :blessed:

We've almost matched our win total from last year, so anything after that is house money

one of my hopes when I started this was to get Boozer. We lucked out with the 2nd pick and OKC going with AJ

That was a huge slate of games there: beat the Cavs, took the Nuggets to overtime, dropped the Wolves etc.

Gotta be happy to be back over .500.

he's averaging around 8 per game, but Cleveland had the paint spaced out a lot more than most teams. Even Allen was hovering around the 3PT line most of the game :camdead:

I was shocked how well we did in the sim. But I did change the offensive playbook from balanced to fast paced, so not sure if they impacted how well they plan in the sim

If we can play .500 ball going forward we back in the playoff - about all I could ask for in Y2

Utah Facing Crucial Decision As Trade Deadline Approaches

Image
Salt Lake City, UT. - The Utah Jazz have officially surpassed their win total from both the 2024 and 2025 seasons, sitting at 22-21 thanks to a 7-3 surge over their last 10 games. For the first time since 2022, the playoffs feel within reach in Salt Lake City.

Ace Bailey has continued his ascent after last year's Rookie of the Year campaign, averaging nearly 24 points per game. Cam Thomas has provided the scoring punch the Jazz desperately needed, knocking down threes at a 39 percent clip. And Anthony Black's insertion into the starting lineup in mid-November has helped stabilize the early-season defensive issues that plagued Utah's 3-7 start.

The question circling NBA front offices now: What do the Jazz do at the trade deadline?

"They're in a unique spot," said one Western Conference executive. "They've got a lot of young talent fighting for roles. Collier, George, Jaquez, and Peat are all guys who could be impact players for other teams. On the flip side, unless the Jazz want to demote Thomas to the second unit, they also don't have an immediate opening in the starting lineup.

"Obviously, there are some guys in the league you add and figure out the fit later. But are the Jazz in that position to get aggressive, or are they going to stand pat at the deadline?"

As currently constructed, Utah projects as a play-in team—at best a lower seed in the 6-to-8 range. They've got scoring punch in Bailey and Thomas, along with Cameron Boozer, whose offensive game has translated to the pro level even if his rebounding and defense are still developing. But many analysts point to the Jazz's overreliance on either Bailey or Thomas having big nights for Utah to secure wins.

"Without another player who can create their own shot, I don't see them surviving a seven-game series with a defense keying in on those two specifically," noted an Eastern Conference scout. "Playoff basketball is different. You need multiple guys who can get a bucket when the game slows down in the halfcourt."

Of the Jazz's current core, only Anthony Black, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Keyonte George are not under contract beyond this season. The question becomes: How much depth would the Jazz be willing to relinquish for a potentially deeper playoff run, considering they'll have approximately $67 million in cap space this summer—before any extensions to Black or George—with a loaded free-agent class potentially available?

Nikola Jokić, Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama, and the Thompson brothers (Amen and Ausar) could all hit the market depending on their player options and contract situations.
That financial flexibility is precisely why some around the league believe Utah should exercise patience.

"Utah needs to decide what they're doing at point guard," said one rival GM. "Is Black going to be their guy going forward, or are they looking to upgrade to a more traditional facilitator? Because that affects everything downstream. They've made it clear they view Collier and George as second-unit options, so likely one of those two is gone. If Black isn't going to be the long-term starting guard, a second unit featuring both Black and one of the other two guards is feasible."

Current oddsmakers have the Jazz standing pat before the February 6th deadline, potentially making only a minor move—such as sending out Jaime Jaquez Jr. to clear a path for rookie Koa Peat, who has impressed in limited court time.

The logic is sound: Why mortgage future assets or young talent for what amounts to a first-round playoff appearance at best?

"The only guy they can realistically trade for and guarantee to have beyond this year is LaMelo Ball," noted another league executive. "But he'll likely still be available in the offseason. To me, it makes sense to stand pat, see how the team continues to develop, then attack the free-agent market aggressively.

"If they keep developing at this rate, they could be one marquee addition away from being a legitimate threat in 2027. Why rush it now and potentially give up pieces you'll regret losing?"

However, not everyone believes patience is the right play.

"Windows in the NBA are shorter than people think," cautioned one veteran scout. "Bailey is on a rookie contract right now. Boozer is cheap. That's your window to be aggressive, before you have to start paying everyone and your flexibility disappears.
"Plus, there's something to be said for playoff experience. Getting this young core into a seven-game series, even if they lose, accelerates their development in ways regular-season basketball can't replicate. Sometimes you need to learn how to win before you can actually win."

The smart money says the Jazz stay relatively quiet at the deadline. With a potential franchise-altering free agency on the horizon and a young core still figuring out how to play together, Utah appears more focused on development than desperation.
But in the NBA, things can change quickly. One more win streak—or one more losing skid—could alter the calculus entirely.

For now, the Jazz seem content to ride out the season with the roster that's gotten them back into playoff contention, banking on the summer to make their real move.

The question is whether that patience will pay off—or whether they'll look back and wish they'd seized the moment when it was in front of them.
