djp73, I could've waited a year to get him, but they offered him. Luka was never going to stay in L.A., it's not the 2K way. He's gonna decline that player option and test free agency, he's already adamant about it, so why not do L.A. a favor a give them the top guy in the draft that they can build with for longer.

But seriously, it's just a good move to attract some stars if we have a successful year. If Luka change his perspective and accept the PO, we get another year with him, probably bring in a bigger name that off season. If not, we'll try to re-sign him. But the Luka sweepstakes is already looking interesting with his "determined" business move.
Me and Agent was talking about accepting the draft trade in the CB.
Had 13 offers. Out of them all, only Luka and LaMelo Ball stood out to me. Only real difference was the age and contract. Luka being 26 and on the tail end, LaMelo being 23 with 4 years. Could've gone either way or just drafted Cooper Flagg. Either way, there was no real wrong option. My initial plan was to build up Cooper, but this offer was a little too good to say no to. Like I said, they get Flagg, he's gonna be a megastar there, plus a future 1st rounder (think '27 or '29). Now they got him, Fred VanVleet and Nikola Vucevic, it's a good start to a rebuild.
