The Angels' bats were roaring as they beat the American League best Toronto Blue Jays, 7-3.

Los Angeles got the impromptu homerun derby started early with Mike Trout hitting a 352-foot shot to left in the first inning after Shane Bieber left a slider over the bottom of the strike zone. However, with the Angels only scoring through homeruns, that meant the Jays could keep the game close for the majority of proceedings.

Ernie Clement brought in Daulton Varsho in the fourth inning to make it 1-1, but Josh Lowe would take the same path as Trout, hitting a 363 foot moonshot that landed in almost the same place as Trout's giving fans in that section two opportunities to catch a ball.

The Blue Jays would tie it up again in the bottom of the fifth inning with Varsho hitting a grounder to center that brought in Alejandro Kirk. They would take the lead in the next inning after a little small ball brought Clement in.

Things would get out of control in the seventh inning. Zach Neto would crush a homerun dead center off Louis Varland to tie the game up. Then, in the next inning, Denzer Guzman got things started with a 450-foot no doubter that had Varland getting pulled from the game. Yoan Moncada and Jo Adell would also hit no doubters on Yimi Garcia to make it 6-3.

Guzman added another RBI in the 9th inning to seal the game—the only Angels score that didn't come from a homerun.

"They were hanging a lot of junk over the plate and our guys made them pay." - Los Angeles Angels manager Kurt Suzuki
