Los Angeles ran its winning streak to nine with an 8-2 win in Miami, backing 11 strikeouts from Rhett Lowder with a 12-hit night.

The Angels scored in the first when Nolan Schanuel doubled to center, Zach Neto singled to left to push him to third, and Mike Trout grounded into a double play that brought Schanuel home. Kyle Stowers answered in the bottom half with a 405-foot drive to right off Lowder to tie it.

Los Angeles scored three in the second. Addison Barger singled to center, Ke'Bryan Hayes doubled to center to score him, Brenton Doyle walked, and Schanuel doubled to left to bring in two more for a 4-1 lead.

Logan O'Hoppe doubled to left in the third and came around on a Barger single to center. The Angels added two more in the sixth after Tyrone Taylor singled and Ben Williamson homered to center off Lake Bachar.

Lowder gave up two runs on three hits over seven innings without walking a batter, striking out 11. Miami's only other run came in the seventh, when Connor Norby doubled to right and scored on a Heriberto Hernandez double to left. Sean Newcomb worked the last two innings and retired all six he faced.

Neto singled home Doyle in the ninth for the final run. Lowder took Player of the Game honors. Schanuel finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, and Williamson added two RBI. Stowers led Miami at 1-for-4 with the homer. The Marlins fall to 4-10, the Angels improve to 11-2.
