Yeah sadly Texas State is just horrible. They are a 59/59/59 and at the rate they are playing, it looks like a move back to the Sun Belt is in their future. In NCAA14, The Bobcats were my team.. I loved building them into a powerhouse and taking over the state of Texas with them winning multiple Natty's.

WEEK 7 RECAP
For a 2nd time this season, the WSU Offense got off to a slow start and it ended up biting them in the ass. The Cougars led (7-6) at the end of the 1st Quarter after holding the Bears to a pair of FG's but Cal takes the lead early in the 2nd Quarter with a pair of touchdown pass's from SR QB Shaker Resisig (84) to JR WR Javier Duck (87) including a 42 yd bomb to take a (20-7) lead and Cal never looked back. Ottis would find Calvin Wayne on a 83 yd pass and catch to cut the lead to (20-14) with 2 minutes to play and after a quick stop the Cougars got the ball back looking to try and retake the lead before the half but Ottis instead is picked off yet again setting up another Bears Field Goal as the lead is extended to (23-14) at the half. WSU would cut the lead to (23-21) on the opening drive of the 3rd Quarter as True Freshman Cedrick Mangum caps off the series with 17 yd touchdown run but Resisg responds with another pair of touchdown pass's this time finding JJR WR Austin Augustine (82) for both scores making it (36-24) going into the 4th.Down by 12, Coach Moore made a change at QB inserting Jonathan Provo as Ottis goes down hard after his 6th sack of the game, and Provo wastes little time finding Brayden Trimble for a 75 yd touchdown as WSU makes it (36-31).. Cal though answers right back with another score as Resisg throws TD #5 making it (42-31) after a failed 2pt try.. With Provo still in the game, the Cougars again drive the length of the field capping off a 11 play drive with a 14 yd touchdown run by Clint Powel.. Leaving the offense on the field Provo finds Wayne for the 2pt play making it (42-39) with 3 minutes to play.. Still armed with all 3 timeouts, WSU elects to kickoff rather then attempt the onside but Resisg runs a perfect clock killing drive ending with his 6th touchdown of the day. as the Bears put themselves in position to claim a spot in the Pac-12 Championship with the win.
Resisg finished the game 27/40 (67%) throwing for 350 yds with the 6 TD as he earns POY and Pac-12 Player of the Week.

UP NEXT
With the loss WSU drops to (5-2) Overall and (3-1) in Pac-12 play but more noteworthy is WSU drops completely out of the Top-25 rankings going from #13 to #28.. The Cougars will return home for their final home game of the season as they host (3-4/2-2) Oregon State.
ROSTER NEWS
The OSU matchup will be the Cougar's "Senior Day" was WSU honors the 22 Seniors on the team who helped WSU to the National Championship win last season.. The game will also feature the return of QB Calvin Loyd and WR's Carter Pabst and Conner Izien as well as the return of DT Nathan Conklin
With RB Tashaun Dragos still on IRL for at least another 2 weeks, WSU has officially removed the redshirt from 4* RB Cedrick Mangum as Mangum played in his 5th game this season.. Since Dragos's injury, Mangum has led the Cougars in rushing posting 64 carries for 342 yds (5.3 avg) and 3 TD.

WEEK 8 RECAP
Oregon State had not answer for the return of QB Calvin Loyd and WR's Carter Pabst and Conner Izien as the trio returned to lead Washington State to it's best offensive performance of the season well Pabst cemented himself in the WSU record books 1 more time.
Loyd would lead the Cougars to a first half lead of (31-0) throwing 4 touchdowns including 3 to Pabst as the SR WR finished the 1st half with 9 rec for 148 yds including a 78 yd bomb.. Loyd finished the half 27/38 (71%) for 291 yds..
When the Cougars came back onto the field in the 2nd half, Loyd took a seat this time deferring to fellow RS JR Julius Flowers.. Flowers a former 3* recruit from Rigby Idaho would be making his first appearance after spending the past 4 years as the Cougars Scout team QB..
Flowers would open up the 2nd half with a 24 yd touchdown strike to SR TE Caleb Slye, to extend the lead to (38-0) before throwing INT that would finally set up the Beavers for their only score of the night as the shutout is over, but Flowers would bounce back with the first of 2 touchdowns to Senior WR Landon Wright to make it (45-7)
Wright like Flowers has gotten lost in the shuffle over the years with 4* WR's and transfers coming in Wright has struggled to establish a big role in the offense instead working with Flowers as the WR1 on the scout team. but Wright would make the most of extended PT on Senior night as he hauls in a 2nd touchdown early in the 4th for his 7th of his career extending the lead to (52-7). Still looking to get his Seniors their last showcase in front of the home crowd, Moore turned to FB Cliff Provo the former 4* RB turned FB who would lead the way to yet another score as he caps off a 9 play drive with a 12 yd touchdown run making it (59-7) before Senior PK Adali Lounsbury connects on a 52 yd FG to make it (62-7) still with almost 2 minutes to play.
OSU tried to wave the white flag as they punted after yet another quick 3 and and out but Redshirt Sophomore Deon Rugamba either didn't see it or ignored it as he goes 98 yds to the house for the final score of the game.
FINAL SCORE WSU-69 OSU-7
jKEY PLAYERSQB C. Loyd-27/38 (71%) 291 yds 4 TD, 27 yds rushing

UP NEXT
With the win WSU moves to (6-2) Overall and (4-1) in Pac-12 play and rejoins the Top-25 at #25. However the Cougars Week 9 matchup vs #6 Boise State will be it's biggest game/challenge of the season. The Broncos are 7-0 Overall and 4-0 in Pac-12 play and like last year this game will play a key factor on who plays in the Pac-12 Championship and will also decide both teams fate/chances at a Top-12 spot in the Playoffs.
RECRUITING NEWS
The Cougars have officially played their final home game..WSU will still have a chance to invite a few recruits to Pullman during their Week 10 "Bye" week but Coach Moore and the staff will have to hope they have done enough to convince their top targets that WSU is the place to play next season.
So far WSU has yet to sign a player to the in-season class but at the same time they have also not officially lost anyone either, except #1 Target 5* OT Tye Acker is currently weighing his Deal Breaker opinion of Championship Contender (WSU is a B- and he wants a B) so this game against BSU could go along way in helping push him over the top.

"Moore to the Story" The Next Chapter in Cougar Football

WEEK 9 RECAP
Early turnovers would plague the Cougars in the 1st half as Calvin Loyd throws a pair of 1st Quarter INT's but despite that WSU still managed to lead (14-7) midway through the 2nd Quarter.. Boise State would settle for a 38 yd FG with 45 seconds to play in the half to make it (14-13).. Armed with all 3 timeouts Loyd would try and guide the Cougars into position for their own half ending FG but instead the Bronco Defense comes up with their 3rd INT of the game sealing as WSU goes into the half leading by just 1.
BSU would open up the 2nd half with the ball and quickly scored as Tavian St Clair continues to show he is one of the best dual threat QB's in the country making it (19-14) and leaving their offense on the field BSU converts the 2pt play to make it (21-14) WSU would drive the ball all the way down inside the yd line but the drive would stall at the 1 yd line as WSU turns the ball over on downs.. Boise State would need just 1 play though to make WSU regret their decision to not kick a FG as True Freshman Sergio Barry (76) takes the handoff 99 yds to the house as BSU extends their lead to (28-14) just 3 minutes into the half..
Washington State learning from their earlier mistake settles for a 36 yd FG on the following series to cut the lead to (28-17) and after a St Clair INT BSU finds the endzone as Cedric Mangum goes 22 yds for the score.. to cut the lead to (28-23). This time it was WSU leaving their offense on the field as Loyd converts the 2pt play to make it a 3 point game (28-25) as we head to the 4th.
A Boise State fumble 2 minutes into the 4th gave WSU a chance to take tie the game but Coach Moore once again elected to try and go for the 4th and 1 play but Loyd is called short of the 1st down as the Cougars turn the ball over on downs.. Moore would call for a challenge on the spot of the ball but the officials stick with their original call making it a Double Whammy as the Cougars lose a timeout leaving them just 1 for the remainder of the game.
BSU already with 3 touchdowns on the ground and over 250 yds on the day would grind out a 13 play drive that ends with SO RB Thad Hoag (84) scoring his 2nd touchdown of the game as the Broncos break the 300 yd barrier extending their lead to 10 with 2:48 to play.
Down 10 with just 1 timeout, things would go from bad to worse as the Cougars lose Loyd on the final drive of the game. Fresh off his debut last week against OSU, RS JR Julius Flowers would take over completing 3/4 pass's for 21 yds but it was the 1 incomplete that cost WSU any chance of a comeback as Brayden Trimble drops a 4th and 5 pass ending any chance of a comeback.

IMPACT FROM THE GAME
With the loss, WSU now now 3 loss's and has dropped out of the Top-25 yet again. At (6-3) Overall, their hopes of returning to the playoffs are all but over and with a (4-2) record in Pac-12 play they now trail BSU who is (5-0) and Cal (6-0) leaving their chances of making the Pac-12 title game also a unlikely story.
The Cougars will have a Week 10 "Bye" before returning to the field in Week 11 to finish out their schedule with 3 straight road games.. WSU is currently (5-0) at Martin Stadium and (1-3) on the road.
The one positive WSU has going for them is the remainder of the schedule is Colorado State, San Diego State and Fresno State who are currently a combined 6-20 Overall.

dang, that loss to Cal really hurt. Boise State is always a toss up, but now with 3 losses it's hard to see you guys getting back into the dance to defend the Natty

Yeah I don't see it.. Boise State and Cal play each other in Week 13.. If I could've pulled off the win then I would've at least had a chance at a Pac-12 title spot but at this point I think a Holiday Bowl or Las Vegas Bowl is more likely in my future.

what a score against Texas State. Must've been a boring game to win by that margin.
