Miami makes history with third five-star commit as Alabama's Kevin Yeboah jumps on board ahead of official visit
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider
Since the inception of 247 Sports, the Miami Hurricanes have never signed three five-star recruits in the same cycle. If things are going to change in Coral Gables, it starts with recruiting and Mario Cristobal is showing why he is considered one of the sports best, going into the heart of the SEC and pulling out another five-star in defensive tackle Kevin Yeboah.
Yeboah's final three also included Ole Miss and Alabama, which is a two-hour drive from Yeboah's hometown of Oxford, Alabama but he ultimately decided to head south and play for the Hurricanes who have an affinity for quick twitch, sturdy interior lineman that other schools might view as a tweener.
Yeboah doesn't have the ideal height for a Power 4 defensive tackle at just six-foot-one but the pass rushing prowess and production is there. He transferred to powerhouse program Hewitt-Trussville this fall and has been a wrecking machine for the Huskies with 52 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks in Alabama's highest classification.
He'll be playing in the Alabama-Mississippi All Star Classic next month with future Miami teammate Walt Coffey, another five-star the Hurricanes were able to snag away from the state of Alabama, beating out Auburn.
"We're definitely excited about playing together," Yeboah told CBS Sports of his relationship with Coffey, "[Miami's coaches] put us on a group chat together in the summer and we've just been getting to know each other, watching each other's film and really the whole class can't wait to get there and start balling."
Miami likely isn't done with four-star cornerback Tommy Stacy set to make an announcement later this week on Friday. Stacy will be deciding between Miami and Florida State, who ironically are facing off on the football field on Saturday as well.

Miami Northwestern's Tommy Stacy picks Miami over Florida State as Hurricanes add four-star corner
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider
Four-star cornerback Tommy Stacy out of Miami Northwestern High School is choosing to stay close to home, picking the Miami Hurricanes over Florida State during his announcement at halftime of the Bulls' game on Friday against Miami Norland.
Stacy, who is the ninth ranked cornerback in the class and a top-130 prospect in the country, has primarily played in the slot in a hybrid role for the Bulls with his physicality and willingness to help out against the role. Miami's coaching staff projects a similar role for Stacy at the next level, slotting in at nickel with the added ability with his size and length to play on the outside.
He hasn't been asked to play a lot of man coverage, on an island, for Northwestern so that remains to be seen with Stacy but he does bring some positional versatility in terms of being able to play safety, nickel and boundary corner depending on the matchup.
With the commitment, Miami has now landed four of South Florida's top players in Stacy, five-star linebacker James Fernandez, four-star linebacker Jacques Turk and four-star running back Maurice 'Big Mo' Rugamba. The only top 100 player from South Florida (Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County) to commit elsewhere is linebacker Diego Montanez who committed to Texas A&M.
Miami is now up to fifteen commits in the class with potentially a few more on the way. They are working on closing defensive tackle Dan Mintze out of Palm Beach with UCF involved in that recruitment. Miami has also recently turned up the pressure on defensive tackle Rico Veasy, who is right outside that five-star range would give them another loaded defensive tackle class if they're able to land both Mintze and Veasy, joining a class that already includes Kevin Yeboah.
In the secondary, Miami has made up a lot of ground in Paul Webb's recruitment, which is coming down to the Canes and South Carolina. They've also recently offered IMG Academy's Lamarcus Cook, who is teammate's with Georgia commit Denzel Major. Cook is a bit of a late bloomer, recently earning his fourth star in the summer and is originally from Alabama. The Tide are a team to watch in that recruitment, as well as Ole Miss.

‣ CFB 2024 Regular Season, Week 9 - Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida
(5-3, 4-3 ACC) #16 Florida State Seminoles at #15 Miami Hurricanes (7-1, 3-1 ACC)
FSU | 7 | 0 | 3 | 10 | 20
MIA | 3 | 0 | 14 | 6 | 23
Hurricanes snap three-game losing streak to rival Florida State as Cam Ward, Sam Brown dazzle in rivalry debut
It wouldn't be Miami - Florida State if it didn't involve key special teams play down the stretch.
The Hurricanes rallied back from an early deficit and then held off the Seminoles comeback efforts in the fourth quarter as Cam Ward swept the state of Florida with Miami's 23-20 win over Florida State on Saturday.
Ward had two turnovers in the second quarter, giving Florida State an opportunity to extend their lead before the half after a red zone fumble. D.J. Uiagalelei completed passes of 36 and 25 yards to Destyn Hill to get the Seminoles in scoring territory with less than two minutes to go in the half but the drive would stall out and Ryan Fitzgerald missed the 24-yard field goal from the far right hash mark.
The Hurricanes offense would go into a time machine at halftime, coming out with a goal-line formation on fourth and 1, picking up seventeen yards on the hand off to Mark Fletcher Jr. The Hurricanes would stay in the formation for the rest of the drive, all hand offs to Fletcher who punched it in to take the 10-7 lead. After another Florida State three and out, Ward would find Sam Brown on a screen pass for a 69-yard touchdown to send Hard Rock into a frenzy.
Both teams would swap field goals, with Ryan Fitzgerald knocking in one from 61 yards out to make it 20-13 with 4:27 remaining in the game. The Seminoles would get the ball back with three minutes remaining but on fourth and five, Uiagalelei rushed out of the pocket by Wesley Bissainthe and sacked by Tyler Barron to turn the ball over on downs.
Miami had a chance to seal the game on 2nd and 20 with Brown getting behind the defense but Ward's pass sailed over his head, forcing the Hurricanes to settle for a 52-yard field goal which Andre Borregales hit.
Florida State would score with 34 seconds remaining but failed to recover the onside kick.
