Kennesaw State lands two more commitments in major recruiting win
Keke Hagg
Nov 10, 2025, 10:27 AM ET
KENNESAW, Ga. -- Kennesaw State's defense surrendered 246 rushing yards to New Mexico State this past weekend but help is on the way for the Owls defense and head coach Bubba Mack as defensive tackle Tobias Singleton committed to Kennesaw State over UAB.
Singleton, who is the 42nd ranked defensive tackle in the nation, has a promising frame at six-foot-five with powerful hands. He's currently listed at 275 pounds but could probably bulk up to the 290 range once he's inside a college strength and conditioning program. Singleton could be a potential instant impact player for the Owls as they have three graduating seniors on the roster currently at defensive tackle.
The Owls also got a commitment from two-star tight end Tyrone Hoyt who the coaching staff is extremely high on. A bit of a jumbo receiver at six-foot-four and 212 pounds, Hoyt is more flex tight end at this point and might never be your traditional tight end that's able to play inline and block defensive ends but his upside as a receiver with his athleticism make him an intriguing project for the staff.

Last Meeting
Jacksonville State delivered a dominant performance on October 4, 2024, routing Kennesaw State 63–24 in their Conference USA opener, piling up a season-high 577 total yards—including 384 rushing yards—and eight rushing touchdowns. Tre Stewart rushed for 134 yards and four touchdowns, while quarterback Tyler Huff added 176 yards and three rushing scores, anchoring the Gamecocks’ record‑tying ground attack.
Players to Watch
QB Gavin Wimsatt (R-Jr) | 6′3″, 227 lbs | 81 OVR, 86 SPD, 90 THP, 80 SAC, 73 MAC, 70 DAC
‣ Wimsatt's transfer to Jacksonville State hasn't been a smooth one but the former high profile transfer from Kentucky and Rutgers isn't short on talent. A powerful with good size, Wimsatt is at his best when he's on the move and making things happen. Kennesaw State will need to bottle him up and keep him contained in the pocket as if he's allowed to extend plays, his natural playmaking abilities may overshadow some of his deficiencies as an accurate thrower.
HB Andrew Paul (R-So) | 5′11″, 215 lbs | 81 OVR, 87 SPD, 89 ACC, 84 COD
‣ The Gamecocks are down three scholarship running backs but still have their RB2 in Paul who should see an elevated role while Cam Cook is sidelined. Paul has dealt with his own injury issues, playing just seventeen snaps against Middle Tennessee State and was relatively ineffective against the Miners last week but he's the type of running back at 215-pounds that has caused the Owls trouble all season along.
EDGE Isaac Walker (R-Jr) | 6′2″, 235 lbs | 77 OVR, 84 ACC, 74 PMV, 80 FMV, 73 BSH
‣ Walker hasn't been the most productive pass rusher with only one sack and two tackles for loss but this is a good matchup for Walker as he'll face off against sophomore offensive tackle Nikola Milovac who gave up three sacks last week at left tackle. Milovac struggles against speed rushers and that's exactly what Walker brings to the table with his athleticism and while Milovac might have nearly 100 pounds on him, if he can't touch him, he can't block him.

I am excited about Singleton because of the physical attributes, didn't get to scout him though so a bit of a mystery ratings wise

He had a couple of long runs in the first half. We did better in the second half but yeah, a lot of missed tackles. Canes21 has tackling at 28 with CPU run blocking at 100 so its rough out here for a pimp
