Damn what a beat down by Bama. And more players cheating? I think we need some scholarships banned or a coach suspension coming. This is becoming SMU territory.

Freeman's One and Done - A Playoff Faceplant And A Quiet Exit

Conway, SC. - There was no grand press conference like the one that accompanied Coach Vaughn’s exit. No emotional farewell, no extended statement. Just short paragraph in an official release, and that was how the Freeman era ended in Conway.
"I would like to thank the Coastal Carolina program, its fans, and every person involved in the day to day operations of the 2034 football season for their encouragement, warmth, and hospitality during my first year in Conway. When I spoke with Coach Vaughn before accepting the job, he praised the sense of community here, and I truly felt that this season. I fully intended to build a lasting legacy in Conway to rival Coach Vaughn’s accomplishments. But sometimes life throws you a curveball, and you have to swing.
A rare opportunity has presented itself, and due to that, I will be leaving Conway to accept the head coaching position with the Georgia Bulldogs."
The immediate aftermath in Conway was chaotic. Players and staff woke up to the news and began calling one another to confirm it wasn’t a mistake.
By Tuesday afternoon, Coastal president James Winebreak called a formal press conference.
“We were made aware this morning of Coach Freeman’s intention to leave for the vacant head coach position at Georgia,” he announced. “This was the first time we’d been informed Coach Freeman was considering leaving. According to what he told us today, he met with Georgia Monday morning after the Peach Bowl loss to Alabama, while the team remained overnight. By the time the plane touched down at Conway–Horry County Airport, on Monday afternoon his decision was made.
“While we support coaches pursuing opportunities to better themselves, we can’t help but express disappointment in the timing and structure of Coach Freeman’s departure. We believed Coach Freeman, AD Mike Buddie, and Coastal leadership were aligned on a clear, concise path forward in the post-Vaughn era.”
Winebreak took no questions. Mike Buddie, seated a few feet away, remained silent throughout. According to sources close to the program, leadership is “beyond furious” with Buddie.
“He was brought in to stabilize the program, and although they weren’t thrilled with how he pushed Coach Vaughn out, Buddie preached accountability and professionalism,” one source said. “They bought into that. Now, a season later, it’s evaporating.
“Not only is Freeman gone for a more lucrative offer, but several defenders are being investigated for testing irregularities, all with the same tutor assigned by the staff. The report isn’t official yet, but I’m hearing the tutor obtained exam answers ahead of time and fed them to the players.
“This is far from the vision Buddie pitched when he was hired just over two years ago.”
When asked whether Buddie’s job could be in jeopardy, the source didn’t hesitate: it wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s swept up in the fallout.
Three weeks ago, the Chanticleers were celebrating their fourth straight ACC title, closing a 12–1 regular season and preparing for a run at a third consecutive national championship.
Now, after a crushing 55–28 semifinal loss, Coastal Carolina isn’t just searching for answers.
They’re searching for a new coach.
And possibly a new athletic director.

HE CANT HANDLE THE TEAL

With Vaughn gone the house rule is if a higher prestige school offers my current coach, he gone. I also had a list of three schools Freeman would leave for no matter what. Ohio State, Bama, Georgia. Just so happened Georgia was a higher prestige (by 1/2 star) and on the list.
Next coach will have similar parameters
