do what, lose in the Quarterfinals again?

this next game against TAMU is a toss up, but you right. If we don't get the title we lackin
I was worried they would just keep pounding the rock with Hawkins and they'd score with no time leftTearz49ers wrote: ↑Yesterday, 06:14That played out a lot closer than you would have liked, and TCU were definitely let down by poor QB play towards the end. Have to agree with Caesar that Big XII has to be on the cards this season!
definitely CCG or bust at this point
we just gonna run press man all game and be gucci
they did some read option but I had my defense set to sit on the QB, so Hawkins just chewed us up. He had a few big scrambles but after the second first down scramble I just had a committed spy most of the game, so that and a few sacks knocked his yardage down

2027 Week Seven Preview
#6 Texas A&M (6-1) @ #7 Arizona State (7-0)
The Devil's Due Mailbag — Week Nine Preview

Arizona State overcame a determined TCU Horned Frogs squad in Week Seven to hit their bye week with a perfect 7-0 record as the 7th-ranked team in the country. They'll need all the rest they can get as they return home and prepare to face the 6th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies, who are looking to avenge a Liberty Bowl loss last season that still plagues Marcel Reed.
"A lot," said Aggies QB Marcel Reed flatly when asked how much the Liberty Bowl loss to Arizona State to end the 2026 campaign hurt. Reed helped guide the Aggies to a 27-10 halftime lead over Arizona State, led by interim head coach Marcus Arroyo, before two interceptions ended the Aggies hopes of closing 2026 with a win.
With a true dual-threat QB coming to Mountain America Stadium with revenge on his mind, the Sun Devils are preparing for what looks to be their biggest test of the season.
Pitchfork Points
Arizona State must win the TOP battle.Marcel Reed is a lethal athlete and has extra motivation this weekend. Keeping him off the field as much as possible has to be priority #1 for the Sun Devils offense. As Austin Mack has acclimated himself to Tempe, the coaching staff has leaned on him to be the catalyst for the offense, shying away from the run-heavy attack they utilized early in the season. They'll need to return to their roots, pound the ball, and control the clock against the Aggies. If the game turns into a shootout, I don't know if the Sun Devils have enough bullets in the clip to outgun the A&M offense.
Defense can't give up 150+ rushing yards again.Caleb Hawkins rumbled for 176 yards and two touchdowns last week in a loss, simply because Jack Daulton couldn't complete a pass past the sticks. We won't get that lucky with Marcel Reed behind center. If we show the same lackluster effort in the running game this week, we're for sure going to hang that first L next to our name. We simply have to improve in our run fits, or we're cooked.
New Week, same story. Someone else has to step upAustin Carlisle and Kyson Brown are our leading receivers. RVB comes in behind them. After that? Cam'Ron Lacy with 196 yards. That's not sustainable, especially with an athletic Aggies defense that won't be as slow to the motion and swing routes as our Big XII counterparts. One credit to Mack over the last few weeks, he's distributing the ball efficiently. Seven different receivers three weeks ago and nine two weeks ago. That keeps the defense from keying on Brown and Carlisle, but right now, everyone in the stadium knows who the ball is going to in key situations. We'll need someone to step up in those clutch moments, or it's going to be GGs ladies and gentlemen.

Sun Devils Burn Up Aggies In Tempe
34 #6 Texas A&M (6-2) @ #7 Arizona State (8-0) 42 | Mountain America Stadium | Tempe, AZ.
By Emilio Suarez
October 30th, 2027
I apologize Arizona State, I was unfamiliar with your game. I said in the lead-up to the showdown with the Texas A&M Aggies that we wouldn't be able to win a shootout with the boys from College Station.
I was wrong. The Sun Devils outgunned the Aggies 42-34 in Tempe to move to 8-0 on the season and almost assuredly earn them a top-5 ranking when the AP Poll comes out on Sunday.
Austin Mack threw a red zone interception midway through the second quarter that allowed the Aggies to take the first half lead, but one key stat worked in the Sun Devils' favor: every time the Aggies were forced to punt, the Sun Devils turned it into points.
Texas A&M held a 24-21 lead going into the fourth quarter before Austin Mack hit Demarius Robinson out of the backfield for a 13-yard score, retaking the lead at 28-24. The ensuing Aggies possession would stall out at midfield after the Sun Devils only sack of the day forced A&M out of field goal range.
Mack responded by leading a long, winding, methodical touchdown drive before Austin Carlisle corralled a swing pass on 4th-and-goal pushing the Sun Devils' lead to a crucial 35-24.
"That's how we've played all season, aggressive. You play to win, not to not lose," confidently stated Weis Jr. after the game. "If we were playing Cal Poly I'd make that same decision, we can't back away from our identity just because the stage is bigger."
The touchdown ended up being the turning point. A&M would rally for a field goal, but the Sun Devils would collect the onside kick attempt before Mack found RVB between the safeties for a 23-yard touchdown. The pair of late scores ensured that the only difference Marcel Reed's 3-yard touchdown run with 19 seconds left made was for the bettors in Vegas.
When asked what the win meant for the Sun Devils program, which many wrote off with the exit of Kenny Dillingham, Kyson Brown shrugged off the importance.
"We beat them last year, beat em again this year. Ain't nothing changed in this building," declared Brown with a smirk. "Y'all might have gotten it twisted, but we knew the vibe from day one."
Arizona State will hit the road next week, hoping to carry the biggest win of the season into a Big XII clash with Houston.
