Georgia edges out Stanford, Auburn for top-20 prospect Ezekiel Quick

The number one player in the state of Alabama is heading to Georgia after five-star cornerback Ezekiel Quick picked the Dawgs over Auburn and Stanford as he closed out his recruitment.

Quick, who is ranked 17th in the 247 Composite Rankings, is the sixth ranked corner in the country and someone that Stanford dedicated a ton of resources in trying to land. This would have been a pivotal and potentially watershed moment for the Stanford program under Bubba Mack who was ranked No. 1 in the country in Mack's second season.

With Quick committing to Georgia, expect Stanford to really turn up the heat on five-star cornerbacks Kentrell Martin and Nate Story who have always been a priority but now become almost must-gets for Mack and his staff if they want to take that next step into being a premiere program when it comes to high school recruiting.

Stanford did get a commitment from four-star center Lawrence Hepburn out of Minnesota as they hang onto their top seven ranking.
