looking forward to see who wins that classic PAC matchup between USC and Oregon

I played USC last year in the Holiday Bowl and have yet to play the Ducks, so they're my hope.
I will start adding my record in the updates as well just for reference
I'm hoping for Oregon just since we haven't played them yet in this chise, but since Lanning left Oregon for USC the Trojans have had the Ducks number. iirc this year was the first time Lanning had lost to his old schoolYaBoyRobRoy wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025, 15:22looking forward to see who wins that classic PAC matchup between USC and Oregon

Hajrullahu Caps Explosive Season With Runaway Heisman Victory

For the third time in the last five years, the Heisman Trophy is heading to Conway. Coastal Carolina star running back Devin Hajrullahu capped a record-shattering senior season by winning college football’s most prestigious award, running away with the vote in decisive fashion.
It wasn’t just the numbers. It was the spectacle. Hajrullahu became appointment viewing this fall, drawing comparisons to Reggie Bush’s electric 2005 Heisman campaign. Like Bush, every touch felt like a highlight waiting to happen — a blur of acceleration, vision, and improvisation that made him the most dangerous player in the sport.
The journey began quietly. After transferring from Houston, Hajrullahu was eased into action with limited snaps over Coastal’s first four games. But once the Chanticleers turned him loose, the floodgates opened. He rattled off seven consecutive games with 200+ all-purpose yards and at least two touchdowns, with the lone exception coming against Florida State — a game he exited in the second quarter with a chest contusion.
By season’s end, the stat line read like fiction: 1,419 rushing yards on just 180 carries, 1,079 receiving yards on 76 catches, and 34 total touchdowns (23 rushing, 11 receiving). He joined Villanova’s Brian Westbrook as only the second player in college football history to eclipse 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving in the same season.
He didn’t slow down in the postseason, either. In Coastal’s ACC Championship Game victory over Louisville, Hajrullahu added four more touchdowns, cementing his Heisman résumé while his closest competitors stumbled. Colorado wideout Randall Bayless managed just two catches in a 70–3 rout against Oregon, while Alabama quarterback Frank Silverman turned the ball over three times in a loss to Georgia. Houston quarterback Sateki Bender — a former teammate of Hajrullahu’s — finished third in the voting after watching from home on Championship Weekend.
“I don’t think either of those guys could’ve overtaken Devin anyway, but it certainly widened the gap considerably,” said ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit.
The Heisman was only the centerpiece of Hajrullahu’s hardware haul. He also claimed the Maxwell, Walter Camp, and Doak Walker awards. He wasn’t the only Chanticleer honored, either: middle linebacker Ty Oden swept the Nagurski, Bednarik, and Butkus awards, continuing Coastal’s stranglehold on defensive honors for a fifth straight year. Freshman quarterback Fredrick Meredith brought home the Shaun Alexander Award as the nation’s top freshman, while center Alan Hoffman won the Rimington Trophy.
Elsewhere, Bayless was awarded the Biletnikoff, while Bender secured both the Davey O’Brien and Johnny Unitas awards.
But the night belonged to Hajrullahu — Coastal’s newest legend, and perhaps the closest thing college football has seen in two decades to the magic of Reggie Bush.

Coastal Finishes Regular Season With 7th Ranked Prep Class

Conway, SC. - With the regular season in the books, the spotlight shifted to the early signing period — and Coastal Carolina once again made noise on the trail.
The Chanticleers still have two key targets undecided — four-star tackle Chance Cochran and four-star linebacker Melvin Dwumfour — but the foundation of the class is already secure. Despite signing only 15 players, Coastal finished with the nation’s No. 7 class, keeping pace with bluebloods who loaded up with larger hauls. Georgia inked 31 prospects, Clemson 22, and Ohio State 29, yet the Chanticleers’ leaner group carried more star power per signee.
“We take great pride in our scouting department, and I feel that’s starting to show on the field,” head coach Kade Vaughn said. “We’re moving away from being a transfer-portal destination to being a destination school, point blank.”
That confidence is backed up by results. Coastal signed a pair of five-stars in Connecticut wide receiver Morgan Briggs and New Jersey defensive end Russ DeVan, plus seven recruits ranked inside the 247Sports Top 100.
Briggs, a 6-foot-1 technician, has already earned the reputation as a “route artist” — a polished receiver who consistently beats defenders with footwork and timing rather than raw athleticism.
DeVan, meanwhile, projects as an immediate difference-maker. At 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, he combines speed and power in a way that has already drawn comparisons to Dwight Freeney. “He doesn’t have Freeney’s spin move,” one scout said, “but his finesse rushes leave linemen grasping at air while he’s burying the quarterback.”
The class also includes a familiar name: Barry Reyna, a three-star defensive tackle from High Point, N.C., and the younger brother of Chanticleers legend Walt Reyna.
“That wouldn’t be fair,” Vaughn said when asked if Barry carried the same expectations. “Walt was a generational player. We expect Barry to conduct himself the same way off the field — and after getting to know his mama over the years, I have no doubt about that — but he’s his own player. Our job is to put him in position to succeed.”

Chanticleers Senior MLB Nick Farrior To Miss Orange Bowl After Arrest
Conway, SC. - The top-ranked Coastal Carolina defense suffered a setback just one week before its Orange Bowl matchup with No. 6 Oregon.
Middle linebacker Nick Farrior, a starter and key contributor for the Chanticleers, was arrested late Saturday night on campus and charged with public intoxication, according to university police. The incident occurred during Coastal’s bye week following the team’s first-round playoff bye.
Head coach Kade Vaughn announced Sunday that Farrior will not play in the Orange Bowl.
“Nick is a key piece of our defense, but we’ve preached all year that actions have consequences, regardless of the magnitude of the game,” Vaughn said in a prepared statement. “We aren’t just winning football games in Conway, we’re building the future. I would be failing in my role as a leader of these young men if I simply overlooked the transgression due to the poor timing.Life will always come first, and this is a harsh lesson, but one that has to be learned."
Vaughn added that if Farrior completes the Drug & Alcohol Awareness training offered by the school, he will be eligible to play in the Semi Finals should the Chanticleers prevail in the Orange Bowl.
Farrior has helped anchored the defense this season, recording 53 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks. His absence leaves a significant hole for the Chanticleers, who are preparing to face the nation’s second-ranked scoring offense.
Freshman Anthony Atogwe is expected to step into the 2nd starting middle linebacker role, while fellow freshman Carl Urbik is slated to rotate in as a situational Will linebacker in pass-rushing packages.
The suspension marks another disciplinary challenge for Coastal Carolina in a season that has already seen multiple players miss time due to off-field issues.
