Couldn't outcriminal Georgia :smh:

Only 18 sacks all season is crazy
Meredith quick wit it :kghah:

We did have a metric fuck ton of holding penalties - mainly from Devin Trinidad. Who also had all 3 holding penalties in the Fiesta Bowl. We'll see if he's still starting next year

Tino Sunseri Introduced As Coastal Carolina Offensive Coordinator

Image

Conway, SC. - In a move that came quickly after Dave Patenaude’s departure, Coastal Carolina wasted little time naming his replacement.

Tino Sunseri, 43, is joining the Chanticleers after serving as UCLA’s offensive coordinator for the past seven seasons.

"We’re excited to bring one of the brightest minds in the game to Conway and build on the explosive offenses we’ve already produced," head coach Kade Vaughn said at the introductory press conference. "He’s coached in big games at UCLA and knows the ACC from his time as a quarterback at Pittsburgh. His perspective as a former QB is only going to help take this offense — and Fredrick [Meredith] — to another level."

Sunseri echoed that excitement, pointing to Coastal’s versatility on offense.

"What stands out to me is the diversity they show over the course of a season. They can go deep, pound the run, dink and dunk, take shots — the whole package," Sunseri said. "Being able to work alongside Coach Vaughn, who in my mind has become one of the most innovative offensive coaches in the game, is going to be a treat. The ACC and the rest of the country should be nervous about what we’re going to put on tape next season."

Sunseri played quarterback at Pitt from 2009–2012, throwing for over 8,000 yards and 49 touchdowns across four seasons as a starter. After short stints in the CFL, he transitioned to coaching in 2016, working as an offensive analyst at Florida State and Alabama before becoming quarterbacks coach at James Madison and then Indiana. He joined UCLA in 2025, where he developed multiple all-conference quarterbacks and coordinated one of the Pac-12’s most balanced attacks.

As for the cross-country move from Los Angeles to Conway, Sunseri framed it as strategic.

"Having the chance to learn and study under a premier coach like Coach Vaughn can only strengthen my profile as I prepare to become a head coach in the future," he said.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Fredrick Meredith — fresh off a 4,800-yard, 50-touchdown campaign — didn’t hide his excitement. He posted on X shortly after the news broke: “LETS GO. SCARY SZN ON THE TEAL!”

Coastal Says Goodbye To Hajrullahu, 21 Other Chanticleers

Image

Conway, SC. - The annual Teal Farewell served as both a celebration and a turning of the page for Coastal Carolina, as the Chanticleers said goodbye to Heisman-winning running back Devin Hajrullahu and much of the remaining core from the program’s 2028 national championship run.

“It’s kind of surreal,” head coach Kade Vaughn said at the podium. “It feels like yesterday we were hoisting that trophy. Next season, only four guys will still be around from that night. That hits you.”

In total, Coastal will graduate 16 players, while five more entered the transfer portal, including quarterbacks Andre Koloamatangi, Tobias Gallimore, and Ezekiel Saunders.

Koloamatangi had already left the program midseason, making his portal entry a formality. Gallimore, who spent four years patiently backing up a rotating cast of Coastal signal-callers, decided it was finally time to seek a starting opportunity elsewhere. Saunders, meanwhile, faced the reality of Fredrick Meredith’s firm grip on the starting role and chose to pursue a situation with a clearer path to the field.

“It’s tough, because on one hand you want guys to do what’s best for them,” Vaughn admitted. “On the other, we expected them back next year. Andre was already gone, but we only recruited one quarterback this cycle because we trusted Tobias and Ezekiel were committed. Now we’re left scrambling in the portal, and everyone knows the job here isn’t open. That’s a hard sell—but that’s life.”

The portal movement isn’t limited to quarterbacks. Running back Jason Toppins and wide receivers Brayden Sharpe and Santiago Emanuel II are also seeking new homes where immediate playing time is more likely.

With 16 scholarship players already signed in the 2029 recruiting class, Coastal has roster space to replace all five portal departures, as well as two additional losses from in-season dismissals: Sean Maggio and Richard Hatch, both removed for disciplinary reasons.

Chanticleers Go All In With Dominant Transfer Portal Class

Conway, SC. - When Coastal Carolina walked off the field after its Fiesta Bowl loss to Georgia, the to-do list wasn’t long. The Chanticleers needed a pass-rush specialist, more size up front, depth at quarterback, and—if you asked most around the program—a legitimate challenger at right tackle after Devin Trinidad’s holding woes peaked on the season’s biggest stage.

They checked every box, and then some.

With the nation’s No. 3 transfer class, Coastal added nine new pieces, reshaping both lines and infusing speed at the skill spots.

The headliner is former Michigan tackle Zach Jackson, a 6-foot-7, 325-pound bookend who brings both the length and lateral quickness Vaughn covets. The expectation: fewer flags, more security for Fredrick Meredith on the weak side.

Another major offensive addition is center Rashard Dragos, who arrives from Boise State to replace Rimington winner Alan Hofmann. Coastal also dipped into the ACC for speed, pulling in former Virginia running back David Agudosi, whose game-breaking wheels left a strong impression when the Chants faced the Cavaliers last fall.

“With Devin [Hajrullahu] leaving, we needed another home-run hitter to pair with Justice [Spear],” Vaughn said. “David gives us that.”

Defensively, the Chants had to replace their top two sack artists, JD Coward and Tyree Witherspoon, and they didn’t hesitate. Former Notre Dame end Ramon Queiro and ex-Oregon lineman Tyron Acker bolster a front that ranked among the nation’s best in 2029 but was bullied by Georgia, giving up 300-plus yards on 22-of-25 passing with just one sack.

“Consistent, intentional pressure—that’s the goal,” defensive coordinator Tony White said. “Too often last year, we schemed our way into sacks. Now we want guys who can just go get them.”

With Ty Oden gone, rising sophomore Anthony Atogwe is expected to take over at middle linebacker, but Coastal doubled down at the second level by adding former Florida State standout Manu Filimoeatu, an athletic WILL who chose the Chants over Georgia and Florida.

And finally, the Chanticleers added two more man coverage savants in the back end with CBs Craig Avant and Robert Elling. Both have the speed, fluidity, and coverage chops to slot right in alongside Mike Momah and Xavier Montague to form one of the best secondaries in the entire country.

National voices have already taken notice.

“You talk about a team that was right on the verge—that’s Coastal,” Nick Saban said on ESPN’s portal coverage. “They were good enough to win it all last year. And when I look at this roster now, I don’t see a hole. If they stay healthy and avoid the off-field stuff? They’re walking into the national championship game.”

For Vaughn, the stakes are clear. Four years removed from the program’s lone national title, the narrative has tilted toward the idea that Bryce Underwood was the difference-maker—not the system, not the coach.

Vaughn has his counterargument. This roster isn’t just preseason hopefuls. It’s built to be the favorite.

Two More Recruits Reverse Course And Choose Conway

Conway, SC. - Fresh off signing a top-10 recruiting class and the nation’s No. 3 transfer haul, Coastal Carolina wasn’t done. The Chanticleers added two more names to the roster this week after MLB Colt DeLuca and G Will Doubs made surprise late commitments.

Both DeLuca and Doubs had been priority portal targets for Coastal earlier in the offseason but initially chose to return to their original schools—Nebraska and Georgia, respectively.

“We were in a battle with both schools,” said head coach Kade Vaughn. “They felt staying put was the right move… or so we thought.”

As it turned out, the door closed on them at home. Nebraska and Georgia each rescinded the scholarships after landing other transfer athletes to fill the same positions. In separate statements, both programs chalked it up to “miscommunication” and roster limitations.

For Vaughn, it was an easy decision to welcome the two into the fold.

“We always have room for championship-caliber players,” Vaughn smirked.

Thinking about starting my new season with my Boise State thread on this site. I am not getting alot of comments/Feedback on my threads any more at OS. Was curious do you make all your own templates/tables for stats and stuff or is there a dedicated page to copy and paste things like the end of the year stats, scheduling, team roster ect.. like they had at OS

It'd be awesome to have another one over here. Yours would be a welcome addition to the ones we've got rolling! We've got a pretty solid group of regulars then plenty who pop in and out.

You do have to make your own tables, but they're fairly straight forward. You can quote one of mine and see the base template. Some guys get more in depth with the coding for different colors and such in the back ground, but I'm not good enough with that to do it lol. Unfortunately, this is a different forum software so even the OS tables don't work. But like I said, the base template is pretty straight forward. I get a template of each type I use and just have it saved on my computer to copy & paste :yep:
