Lake Travis rolls over Bowie to wrap regular season

LAKE TRAVIS QB CAM FITZPATRICK PREPARES TO DELIVER A 94 YARD TD TO KADYN LEON

AUSTIN - Early in the third quarter Lake Travis seniors Cam Fitzpatrick, Nico Hamilton and Kadyn Leon found themselves in a familiar place. Standing on the sidelines cheering on their understudies.

Fitzpatrick connected with Leon late int he second quarter for a 94 yard score that put the Cavaliers on top 42-0. They would go on to secure a 63-3 win.


LEON SCORES A 94 YARD TD JUST BEFORE HALFTIME

The win makes it five straight for Lake Travis after a blocked field goal cost them the game against Westlake back in September. Lake Travis has scored 254 points in those five games, more than 50 points per game. Their closest of those contests was a 31-24 win at Dripping Springs. Lake Travis topped Del Valle 55-0, Anderson 42-20 then after the close one against Drip they beat Austin 63-14 last week and put up 63 against Bowie on the road.

Fitzpatrick threw for a career high 416 yards on 19 of 26 passing with four touchdowns. Leon was on the receiving end of all four of those touchdowns which he scored on just six receptions totaling 204 yards.


LEON SECURES ANOTHER TOUCHDOWN

Hamilton, who only played about a dozen snaps, picked up 54 yards and two scores on eight carries.

Fitzpatrick's 3,252 yards put him in the top ten all time for Lake Travis with hopefully a deep playoff run to come. HIs 36 touchdowns are also top ten.

Hamilton has rushed for 1,224 yards and 14 touchdowns putting him in the top ten for yards and just outside for touchdowns.

Leon's 1,516 yards and 21 touchdowns are both top five performances.

Chaston Ditta completed three of five pass attempts for 88 yards and a score while also running for a score. Vann Hopping ran for 75 yards and a score and Dylan Cullers caught seven passes for 158 yards and a touchdown.

"It's exactly how you want to be headed into playoffs." Coach Hank Carter said when asked about Lake Travis' win streak. "We've been able to put a little polish on some things and implement some things on both sides of the ball and we have been able to get some of the younger guys reps and that just improves your depth so we're excited to get the tournament started."


VANN HOPPING HEADS FOR THE ENDZONE

Lake Travis finishes the regular season with a 9-1 record including 7-1 in district, good enough for second just behind Westlake.

Lake Travis will host Vandegrift in the Bi-District round. Vandegrift finished their regular season 10-0.
