Cardinal overcome slow start to rout Louisville in Battle of the Cardinal(s)
Stanford head coach Bubba Mack called the end of half operation against Louisville 'pitiful' and took ownership for the Cardinal failing to score after having the ball in the redzone in the final minute and were forced to kick a field goal due to poor clock management which they missed.

As terrible as the final sequences of the first half was, the second half couldn't have started any better as Alfonso Bramble took a screen pass 63 yards to begin the rout of Louisville in what would be a dominant 34-10 victory for Stanford.

Alex Rowe had two interceptions, one of them coming in the first drive of the game but also found Rodney Cookus for a 55-yard completion to help set up Stanford's first touchdown of the game. Trumaine Lasike opened the game with a touchdown and would finish with 116 yards and two touchdowns while his counterpart, Nyles Falah, was held to less than a yard per carry for a Louisville offense that struggled to move the ball outside of a few splash plays to Dwayne Stubbs.

Stubbs had five catches for 155 yards, including a 71-yard catch and run touchdown in the second quarter.
