Summary
Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback Ify Cashman played the game of his life to try and will his underdog team to the National championship game to the tune of 433 passing yards and four touchdowns while running back Jay Griggs accumulated 92 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. De'Zie Jones broke a 79-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter and it seemed like Panther nation was about to put on their rally caps before SMU managed to drain the clock and kneel it out. Pittsburgh has to be commended for their offensive output against such a dynamic and dominant Mustangs' defense, but they just couldn't keep up with SMU's relentless run game.

Already missing star Brian Volson from last week, the team lost running back Justice Spielman for a good chunk of the game, and Cal McCalebb was notably hobbled. John Byard came into the game without a single touch all season and dominated on the ground, leading the team in touches. Quarterback Alonzo Cheeseman was a dual-threat master, leading the team in rushing with 94, while mandating the air with might to the tune of 387 passing yards and touchdown, allowing McCalebb to score three times from close proximity.

The Mustangs overcome their demons and make the National title game.

Summary
The Crimson Tide rolled the Indiana Hoosiers to such a dominant degree that one could argue their backup quarterback dominated more than their starter. Keelon Russell cruised to 238 passing yards and two scores (despite also throwing an uncharacteristic interception) before the team pivoted to redshirt freshman Branden Tapp, who levelled the Hoosiers' defense with 222 passing yards and three scores on only 16 attempts. Wide receiver Jay Pool cooked the Hoosiers all game long with 204 receiving yards and two scores while his partner-in-crime Enrique Thrash continued his impressive post-season with 128 receiving yards himself.

Indiana quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele struggled to get anything going, only gathering 138 passing yards and an unfortunate interception while being sacked three times. The team couldn't even lean on their run game, as Sagapolutele led the team in rushing with 40 meager yards. Damien Freeland triggered one of the few bright spots for Indiana during his 68-yard punt return touchdown.

The Crimson Tide will be moving onto the National title game.
