Stanford blows out Fresno State 63-14 following coronation as AP's top team
Stanford took care of business on Saturday, scoring 42 unanswered points in their 63-14 win over Fresno State.
Rashawn Crouse opened the game up with a 47-yard run thanks to a key block by Rodney Cookus who would punctuate the first-half with a 8-yard touchdown with ten seconds left, Stanford's fourth touchdown in the final ten minutes of the first half after punting on their first three possessions.
The Cardinal would empty their bench in the third quarter with backup quarterback Logan Everett replacing Earl Nienhuis, throwing a 52-yard touchdown to Cookus on his first pass but would end his last two drives with an interception. Nienhuis went 15 of 21 for 174 yards with two touchdowns.
Crouse was Stanford's top rusher with 108 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. Anthony Masifilo also got in on the scoring with a touchdown and 95 yards rushing.
