Three-star in-state linebacker Ezekiel Winbush commits to Stanford
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider
The Stanford Cardinal have another member of the Winbush family joining the Cardinal with Ezekiel Winbush set to join cousin and current Stanford running back Trevon Winbush as the three-star linebacker announced his commitment to Stanford via social media.
A tackling machine for the Servite Friars, Winbush is a good athlete that started out at safety in the secondary and has gradually worked his way up to linebacker. He currently projects as a weakside linebacker but has the play strength to play either linebacker spot once he adds more weight. Stanford likes the versatility that Winbush brings as they've used other players with similar athletic profiles all over the field, including at safety in certain packages.
Oregon and UCLA were also interested but Stanford's early offer stood out for Winbush who pulled the trigger and becomes the second member of Stanford's recruiting class.

Stanford add another linebacker from an elite program in Levi Baum
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider
Three-star linebacker Levi Baum has committed to Stanford, becoming the second linebacker to commit to the Cardinal in a span of a few days, joining three-star Ezekiel Winbush.
There are a lot of similarities between the two, who might end up being Stanford's starting linebackers down the line. Baum is slightly more filled out at 227 pounds with an impressive frame that shows clear dedication to the weight room. He comes from a great program in Mater Dei in Southern California, one of the best programs in the country.
While Winbush projects as a weakside linebacker, Baum is your prototypical MIKE linebacker with good range and does his best work when going down hill. He has a good feel for route concepts when in coverage although some hip stiffness leaves a lot to be desired in man coverage. That is the biggest difference between him and Winbush as prospects in this stage of their development but from an athletic profile standpoint, they are very similar prospects.

Better watch out for Kendricks. UCLA keeps pulling your card.
But we see you running a new gimmick with that recruiting

Receiving: Miles Chukwuma 35 receptions, 480 yards, 6 TD
Defense: Mike Leal 28 tackles, 11 TFL, 5.5 sacks
Injuries
T Joe Nunn Torn Labrum (Out)
EDGE Kevin Pagel (Sophomore) Abdominal Tear (Probable)
Players to Watch
QB David Hammer (R-Sr) | 5′11″, 203LBS | 78 OVR, 84 SPD, 88 ACC, 72 AWR, 87 THP, 82 SAC, 77 MAC, 68 DAC
‣ After missing the playoffs last year, Notre Dame decided to bring in an experienced arm despite Nick Nelson's success as a true freshman. While Hammer has some eye popping stats, twelve of his touchdowns came against an FCS opponent and Georgia Tech. He's thrown interceptions in all three losses and looked really shaky against Miami. He'll get a chance to shake off all of that with an upset win over Stanford and is talented enough to power this offense towards a good performance.
HB Garrison Boyette (R-Jr) | 6′1″, 221LBS | 93 OVR, 93 SPD, 90 ACC, 87 COD, 91 CAR, 87 BTK
‣ Boyette had a decent game last year, rushing for sixty-six yards against Stanford in Notre Dame's 35-17 loss. He's regained his form from his freshman season where he rushed for over 1,000-yards and had nineteen touchdowns. He's averaging over 100-yards per game and has scored in every game except Louisville.
CB Deshawn Mayo (R-Jr) | 5'11", 185LBS | 84 OVR, 91 SPD, 96 ACC, 97 COD, 85 MCV, 73 MCV, 78 PRESS
‣ Mayo is likely to draw the matchup against Rodney Cookus. He's coming off his best performance with an interception and only allowed a single catch. He had a tough start to the season, allowing at least four receptions in each of the first four games and has improved since. However, the competition steps up in a big way with Cookus coming into town.

Physical three-star safety Tony Floyd commits to Stanford
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider
Three-star safety Tony Floyd is the latest member of Stanford's recruiting class, bringing Stanford's recruiting class to four players following a busy weekend.
A Swiss Army knife, Floyd has been deployed in multiple ways at the high school level and projects as a box safety for the Cardinal. He's got plus size for the position at 200 pounds and makes up for his lack of speed with his physicality and instincts. Floyd is a bit of a tweener and probably won't ever be a starter-level player at the P4 level due to his limitations in coverage but could carve out a specialist role.
We've seen Stanford use safeties in similar fashion in Mike Thomas and Jaron Azumah, who are primarily deployed in short yardage situations as hybrid linebackers that can cover as well, if needed. Floyd isn't as physically impressive at five-foot-ten but probably more advanced in coverage than both of those players who are more linebackers that are playing safety.
