Miami overtook u?!?!?!? Dawg

but fr how u averaging almost 50 a game that’s insane
They haven't seen us yet :kghah:

Those nuclear numbers against Memphis and Tulane really inflated our numbers. Offense is potent between Dwayne Kasay, Marquis Avant, and our run game. A dominant offensive line will do that

Mustangs exorcise Demon Deacons, continue undefeated streak through regular season

‣ After six sacks, this will forever be known as the Davon Kamara game.

FINAL 1 2 3 4 T
#2 SMU 21 26 3 - 50
Wake Forest 0 0 7 0 7

Game Summary

Mission accomplished and then some. Number 2-ranked school in the nation, SMU, closed out a flawless regular season in emphatic fashion Saturday, dismantling Wake Forest 50-7 to finish 12-0, cementing its place atop the college football landscape heading into championship weekend.

The Mustangs wasted no time asserting control, unleashing a first-half scoring barrage that effectively ended the game before halftime. All but a lone field goal came in the opening two quarters, as SMU's offense overwhelmed Wake Forest with tempo, execution, and explosiveness. By the time the second half kicked off, the only question left was margin.

While the offense set the tone, the defense delivered one of its most dominant individual performances in program history. Edge rusher Davon Kamara was unstoppable, recording six sacks, breaking SMU's single-game sack record previously held by former standout Thomas McCariens. Kamara lived in the backfield all afternoon, collapsing pockets and forcing hurried throws that never allowed Wake Forest to find rhythm.

At 12-0. SMU now turns its attention to the ACC Championship Game, where all signs point toward a highly anticipated matchup with the Miami Hurricanes, the only team that has challenged (and sometimes, even takken) SMU's crown atop the college football rankings.

The National Title Game Before the National Title Game: Miami vs SMU
ESPN Writer

CHARLOTTE -- They'll call it the ACC Championship Game. But make no mistake. This feels like something a lot more significant.

When #1 Miami and #2 SMU meet Saturday night, it won't just decide the conference champion. It could very well determine the favorite to win the College Football Playoff - the de facto national title game before the actual one.

Two elite quarterbacks. Two ferocious defenses. Two programs that have been on a collision course all season long.

At the center of it all is a marquee quarterback matchup between Alonzo Cheeseman and Braylon Burnette - two of the most efficient and explosive passers in the country. With Cheeseman - the reigning Heisman Trophy winner - you have a quarterback that has followed up his historic 2029 campaign with one with even more efficiency and even less mistakes. With Burnette, you have a dominant campaign that mostly flew under the radar, and once you look at the numbers, you question why.

His ability to push the ball vertically and diagnose defenses has powered Miami's rise to the number one ranking, giving the Hurricanes one of the most dynamic offenses in the nation.

While the quarterbacks will grab headlines, this game may ultimately be decided by two elite defenses. SMU's unit has been the backbone of its title defense, anchored by veteran leadership, a group led by senior linebacker Keke Madden and safety Esteban Brewer. Madden is the emotional leader and tackling machine in the middle while Brewer is the playmaking ballhawk that has been playing cleanup all season long.

On Miami's side, they bring just has much firepower with their dynamic duo of SAM linebacker Dom Gilliam and edge rusher Jesus Bonea, who is following a long line of elite Hurricane pass rushers, studying under the school of Rueben Bain. Bonea's 18 sacks paced the nation all season long.

Miami head coach Lou Hernandez made it clear that this game has been circled for months.

"We've been waiting all year for this. We want all the smoke. The attitude in our locker room has been that we are better than these guys all season long. Now is our opportunity to prove it."

For SMU, this game is about proving last year's title wasn't a one-off - that this dynasty cannot be stopped no matter who or what tries to derail it.

For Miami, it's about validation - knocking off the sport's reigning power and claiming the throne.
