I can't approve of this game result, but I'll take my 3-0 and be on my way.

Local four-star prospect Colby Kendricks commits to Stanford
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider

Four-star running back Colby Kendricks won't have to travel far for his college move-in day as the top-five running back in the country has committed to the Stanford Cardinal.

Kendricks, who is ranked as the 109th ranked player in the class, is originally from Pittsburg, California, about an hour north of Palo Alto before moving to Atherton as a junior where he rushed for nearly 2,000 yards for the Menlo-Atherton Bears, a fifteen minute drive from Stanford's campus.

Stanford was always going to be a tough school to beat in Kendricks' recruitment with former Cardinal Christian McCaffrey being his favorite player and likening his playing style to current Stanford running back Anthony Masifilo.

Kendricks could certainly develop into the big play back that Masifilo has blossomed into and at this stage in their development, he's probably further along. Kendricks' contact balance is his best attribute right now and while the speed isn't quite jaw dropping, he's got enough juice to break off long runs.

This is great news for Stanford, especially after five-star running back Shon Eze committed to Oregon earlier this week, which had been trending in that direction for a while. Ideally, Stanford wanted to pair Eze with Kendricks as Eze has more long speed and projects to be a feature back at the next level while Kendricks is likely better as a complimentary piece, similar to Masifilo.

The commitment brings Stanford into the top ten with three four-star commits with some names potentially on the horizon.

Five-star defensive end Barry Mayweather is a Stanford lean but a decision could come after Signing Day as he hasn't taken any official visits yet.

Five-star receiver Rafael Kalil did visit Stanford last month and is reportedly scheduling a visit with Ohio State in the coming weeks. If the Buckeyes are able to get him on campus, it could make things interesting for the IMG receiver down the stretch as he has said in the past that he wants to sign during the Early Signing Period.

Another pair of five-stars to watch are cornerback Mo Hart and offensive tackle Arkemus Owens, who are trending to other schools but Stanford remain a live dog. LSU has made a big surge in recent weeks with Hart with a commitment expected to be imminent while Owens was on campus during the weekend of the Miami game and Ohio State is going to be tough to beat for a top ranked kid from the Midwest.
