Arozarena for Vierling straight up seems like win for Detroit tbh, even if Randy wasn't producing for you. At least Vierling brings you a lot of versatility.

I don't think Arozarena's versatility gets valued as much in The Show as it does in real life, making it hard to have fair value for him in the game. If he ain't producing, hit the bricks yo

He does, I just wanted to be rid of Randy. Good riddance. He has been trash in this chise.
Yeah going up against the Angels sucked to lose so many. Now we got two more divisional rivals.

Mariners Weekly Preview
Headlines
| SERIES PREVIEW Mariners Finish Road Trip in Sacramento After a disappointing series in Anaheim against the Angels, the Mariners head upstate to play against the Athletics. This is an interesting series with the rumors of Gio Urshela being acquired by the Mariners but no forward momentum has been made in that trade so far. Look for the Mariners to have better pitching and outlast the Athletics on the scoreboard. |
SERIES PREVIEW Mariners Return Home Against Rangers The Mariners will follow up their road trip by ending July and opening August with the divisional rival Texas Rangers. The Rangers have a good middle of the order that can damage the Mariners pitching. However, the Rangers pitching has been lack luster so far this season and they are going up against the best the Mariners have to offer at the moment in the rotation. If the Mariners can keep the 3,4 and 5 spots quiet they should have the chance to win this 4 game series. |
FRONT OFFICE Trade Deadline This Week The trade deadline is rapidly approaching with only 4 more games until the window is closed. The Mariners have made one move so far but still need to make some more moves, especially in the bullpen, if they are wanting to beef up the roster for a playoff push. They may also be betting on the fact that they can make the playoffs with the current roster and hope they catch fire at the end of the season going into the playoffs. However, that last series against the Angels was not a promising series to hedge that bet on. |

A 1B in the 9 spot seems odd to me

MARINERS WEEKLY RECAP
Week of Jul 28–Aug 3, 2025 - @ Athletics - vs Rangers
This Week: 2-5 Overall: 55-58
SERIES STORYLINES
ATHLETICS SERIES
Pitching Fails Mariners
The Mariners struggled in games 1 and 2 against the Athletics. Luis Castillo was knocked out the game in the third inning in game 1 after giving up 4 earned runs. The bullpen didn't pull it's weight and gave up an additional 4 runs before the end of the game as the Athletics won game 1. Game 2 saw a slightly better performance with Bryce Miller at least making it 5 innings but he also gave up 4 runs and the bullpen gave up an additional 2 runs as the Mariners once again couldn't match the Athletic's run tally. Game 3 finally saw Emerson Hancock put up a quality start and the Mariners were able to take the game 5-0 to avoid the sweep.
ANGELS SERIES
Mariners look lost against Rangers
The key for the Mariners in this series was to stop the middle of the order for the Rangers. They were unable to do that as Texas exploded in games 2 and 3 before winning a pitcher's duel in game 4. The Mariners really struggled again in this series and it showed only winning 1 out of 4 games. The pitching staff for the Mariners is just performing woefully at the moment.
TRADE NEWS
No Further Action as Deadline Passes
There were more rumors about moves made by the Mariners before the trade deadline but none of them came to fruition. Ownership was either unable to make deals that made sense for the club's finacials or they are a bit of a clairvoyant and recognized the sinking ship that has suddenly appeared. Without reinforcements this Mariners squad will rapidly need to retool what they are doing or they won't even sniff the playoffs.
