Yeah I didn't want to completely blow up the squad. Keep some stability with some of the veterans who are still quality, while bringing in a stronger base of Italian talent. Plus I feel like using players from the league's country gives me more incentive to join a new league later since I'll get to play with more English or German players next for example. Feels more realistic to me as well.JustinCase wrote: ↑21 May 2026, 05:22So, Italy it is. I do like the intent with a number of Italian signings here. Calafiori, Gnonto, Pafundi, Rovella and Tonali. Still also keeping a few players, who have been at the club for some time, like Buongiorno, Neres, Olivera and Zanoli. With the huge changes of players coming and going, keeping this dna could be important.

Napoli Sell Turati, Sign Hometown Star Donnarumma on Deadline Day

Napoli's 11th hour signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma may prove to be their most important of the window.
Sonia Bompastor was not impressed with the performances of Stefano Turati in the first two games of the season, and made that clear to the board at Napoli. Despite her side giving up limited chances, Turati conceded three goals, and simply has not been good enough in front of net. Bompastor made it clear that if they were to challenge for the league and other competitions this year, excellent goalkeeping would be critical. Turati was promptly sold to Atalanta for a €20M fee in the early hours of deadline day.
Now Napoli had limited time to secure a deal for a top end goalkeeper and needed to make something big happen fast. Enter Gianluigi Donnarumma. Quite possibly the best goalkeeper in the world, the 6'5 Italian was born in Naples. He began his career at a small academy in the local area, and his mother is a diehard Napoli fan. Donnarumma also has direct experience with Bompastor and has always been impressed by her football after going toe to toe with her multiple times in France while she was at Paris FC and Lyon.
Paris St. Germain were amenable to moving Donnarumma on given his age, and the fact that Luis Enrique had a preference for a keeper with a bit more skill on the ball. The two clubs agreed on an €83M fee, the largest ever paid for a goalkeeper in world football, and Donnarumma joined Gli Azzurri with time to spare in the transfer window. This marks a major statement of intent from the club to challenge on all fronts this year with one of the best goalkeepers in the world protecting the net.
