QB #5 Dexter Williams, Senior vs. S #45 Nick Andersen, Senior‣ Kennesaw State's passing offense was among the worst in FBS last season and under new head coach Bubba Mack, the room has seen a face lift with two transfer quarterbacks in Dexter William II and Amari Odom. Williams is the starter (for now) and will be going up against a much maligned Wake Forest secondary, led by safety Nick Andersen. While the Demon Deacons also revamped their secondary through the portal, Andersen is a returning starter and a two-time All-ACC selection.
LT #71 Melvin Siani, Sophomore vs. EDGE #6 Marcus Patterson, Junior‣ Wake Forest starting right tackle Fa'alili Fa'amoe is one of the better offensive tackles in the ACC and certainly Wake Forest's best offensive linemen and arguably their best player, regardless of position. The Washington State transfer could very well be a day two pick by the time the 2026 NFL Draft comes around. The left side, however, isn't as certain in Temple transfer Melvin Siani who started six games last year for the Owls. This is the perfect opportunity for Marcus Patterson, the Western Kentucky transfer, to hit the ground rolling against a relatively inexperienced offensive tackle after netting just 0.5 sacks last year but did finish with 4.5 tackles for loss.
WR #1 Gabriel Benyard, Senior vs. CB #14 Lardarius Webb Jr.‣ A growing rarity in college football and certainly on Kennesaw State's roster, Benyard is a four-year player for the Owls who signed with them out of high school. He was projected to be the team's star receiver in 2024 after a breakout performance in 2023 where he led the team in receiving despite playing just four games. The injury bug bit Benyard last year and he played in just seven games. He returns for his senior year and begins it off with a feisty matchup against a similar sized corner in Lardarius Webb Jr. Unlike Benyard, Webb has been all over the country with stops at Oklahoma State, South Alabama and now Wake Forest as he makes the jump back to the P4 level.
