Losing your starter ain't fun, but he's been struggling regardless. Good to see your backup can manage shit (at least in "garbage time")

Surace did solid despite the circumstances. Interested to see how he does going forward

Tough loss, but not an unexpected one

Squad got molly wopped. Results would probably be a bit closer had you not lose AK, but we move. Time to see what AJ can do

game was pretty close til the 4th tbh. surace held his own which was nice to see. i like his throwing style, and he connected with duff a lot which was cool to see them build some rapport. guy is stuck in mud tho in the pocket and cant move. hes only rated 72, but felt like he played better than his rating.

Rutgers Reels from Injuries Ahead of Oregon Clash, Reloads on Recruiting Trail

Djabome out for season, Kaliakmanis sidelined as Scarlet Knights regroup with gritty new signings—and one major recruiting miss.

Google[Bot] | 37 Minutes Ago

PISCATAWAY, NJ -- Rutgers dropped its third consecutive contest on Saturday in a 31–17 defeat at Washington, and the damage went far deeper than the scoreboard.

The Scarlet Knights’ defense took a major blow as senior Mike linebacker Dariel Djabome was lost for the season with a torn pectoral sustained late in the second quarter. A defensive captain and tone-setter, Djabome has been central to the team’s run-stopping identity. His absence leaves a leadership vacuum and forces the coaching staff to lean on a rotation of underclassmen with limited experience.

Compounding the sting, starting quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis exited in the first quarter with what has now been diagnosed as a low-grade sprained knee. While not a season-ending injury, the signal-caller will miss next week's daunting matchup against top-ranked Oregon (6–0).

With the offense already sputtering and the defense scrambling to patch holes, Rutgers faces a steep climb heading into Autzen Stadium.

Recruiting Trail: 3-Star WR Willie Mixon Highlights Latest Group of Commits, Top-Recruit 4-Star QB Page Pledges to Penn State

Although the program landed four new commits, the week wasn’t without its disappointments. The Knights fell short in their bid for 4-star dual-threat quarterback Antonio Page, who gave his pledge to Penn State. Page had been the staff’s top QB target and was seen as a long-term solution under center.

While losses on the gridiron hurt, the recruiting haul offers signs that the program remains focused on building a foundation for sustained competitiveness.

WR Willie Mixon Verbally Committed
:threestar: Nat: 1304 | State: 40 | Pos: 241

A towering 6’5", 194-pound possession wideout from Red Bank, NJ, committed to the program. Though Mixon lacks elite speed, he boasts reliable hands and a knack for catching in traffic—projecting as a red zone threat and third-down security blanket.

LB Jason Konrad Verbally Committed
:fourstar: Nat: 76 | State: 3 | Pos: 4

4-star bruising linebacker from Hillsdale, NJ, brings old-school physicality and instinctive tackling at 5’11", 239 lbs. Konrad fits the mold of the thumper-type linebackers Rutgers has historically thrived with, and could be groomed as Djabome’s long-term successor.

RT Davante Madison Verbally Committed
:threestar: Nat: 1494 | State: 25 | Pos: 94

An agile offensive tackle from Rochester, NY, stands 6’7", 278 lbs with natural footwork and upside as a blindside pass protector. Coaches view Madison as a developmental piece with starter potential.

HB David Enechukwu Verbally Committed
:threestar: Nat: 493 | State: 5 | Pos: 60

A compact but tough tailback from New York City, committed as well. At 5’8", 184 lbs, Enechukwu combines modest top-end speed with solid acceleration and above-average tackle-breaking ability—envisioned as a change-of-pace option behind Rutgers’ stable of backs.

2026 Recruiting Class
LB Jason Konrad (No. 76), Hillsdale, NJ :fourstar:
HB David Enechukwu (No. 493), New York, NY :threestar:
LB David Okanlawon (No. 742), Trenton, NJ :threestar:
WR Willie Mixon (No. 1304), Red Bank, NJ :threestar:
OT Davante Madison (No. 1494), Rochester, NY :threestar:
DE Alec Hurt (No. 1756), Vineland, NJ :threestar:

Page ain't built for it. Saw you needed a QB in a bad way and said DEUCES

there are always a ton of QBs in the portal. Snag one and find a 3* this year to (hopefully) develop

After Oregon it gets easier....hopefully

Losing Djabome is a heartbreaker for the defense, especially when they need to take on Oregon next week :obama:
