Conway, SC. - The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers continued their relentless march toward SoFi Stadium—site of the upcoming 2032 National Championship—with a dominant 59–24 dismantling of the Oregon Ducks at Brooks Stadium. The win pushed the Chants to 10–0, clearing their final ranked hurdle of the regular season and further solidifying their case as the most complete team in college football.
When asked postgame if anything could derail Coastal’s momentum, Coach Kade Vaughn cracked a grin.
“Only one thing,” he said.
Pressed to elaborate, Vaughn declined. When a reporter followed up—asking if he meant officiating, alluding to last year’s controversial Fiesta Bowl ending and his ensuing suspension—Vaughn laughed and raised his hands.
“Whoa, you said it, not me,” he replied, smirking as he exited the podium.
On the field, it was another clinic from Coastal’s offense, powered by the electrifying David Agudosi, who shredded the Oregon defense in a performance eerily reminiscent of Devin Hajrullahu’s breakout against the Ducks in last year’s Orange Bowl.
Agudosi struck first on his opening carry, slicing through the defense for a 54-yard touchdown, and never looked back. He finished the day with 138 rushing yards on just seven carries, 82 receiving yards on five catches, and an 83-yard punt return touchdown that blew the game wide open in the third quarter.
“This dude is lightning in a bottle,” exclaimed Pat McAfee on ESPN’s College GameDay, which broadcast live from Conway for the marquee matchup.
“With all the weapons Coastal has, they’re nearly impossible to game plan for,” added Nick Saban during the halftime broadcast. “And the ultimate trump card? They’ve got speed—everywhere.”
Oregon QB Randy Thielen did everything he could to keep the Ducks afloat, throwing for 416 yards, but the second-half avalanche buried them early. On the Ducks’ second play after halftime, CB Mike Momah leveled HB Sua Bua on a swing pass, forcing a fumble that set up a Denard Cruise touchdown. Moments later, Agudosi’s electric punt return made it 42–14, effectively ending any hopes of a comeback.
The Ducks managed a field goal and a late touchdown, but it was all window dressing. The Chanticleers dictated the tempo, tone, and outcome from the opening whistle.
Now sitting at 10–0, Coastal will stay home in Conway next week for a conference clash against West Virginia, as Vaughn’s squad looks to maintain its perfect record and inch one step closer to a national title berth.
Randy Thielen was bombing the Chanticleers secondary, but even 416 passing yards wasn't enough to slow the Chants.
Mike Momah brought the hit stick to Brooks Stadium, laying out Sua Bua to set up another Coastal touchdown.

play calling has been ass lately by the cpu. Georgia ran the ball four times with two of them coming late in the 4th Q.
We've been giving up a lot of yardage through the air lately, but also not a ton of points. When they're chucking it every play, you aren't going to stop em all. Plus we've gone up against some good offenses. The uptick in yardage is concerning, but so long as we can make them earn them with sustained drives instead of chunk plays, I think we'll be fine

Coastal, ACC Discipline Vaughn After Pattern of Conduct Issues
The sanctions, which include a substantial fine and an official reprimand, come after multiple incidents over the past month that drew attention from the conference’s sportsmanship committee.
The most recent flashpoint occurred earlier this month following Coastal’s 56–24 dismantling of Oregon, when Vaughn was asked postgame if anyone could stop the undefeated Chanticleers. “Only one thing,” he said with a grin. When pressed if he was referring to officiating—a reference to his pointed comments about referees after last year’s Fiesta Bowl loss—Vaughn replied, “You said it, not me.”
That exchange came less than a month after Vaughn’s on-field confrontation with Miami head coach Mario Cristobal following Coastal’s 45–13 victory in Week 6, where the two coaches exchanged heated words before being separated at midfield.
According to multiple sources, the ACC’s review committee viewed the incidents collectively, determining that “a pattern of actions warranting disciplinary review” had emerged.
While Athletic Director Chance Miller advocated against additional public discipline, citing a belief that the program was being “unfairly targeted” due to its national success, the university’s President James Winebrake and ACC compliance liaison Monica Esposito ultimately supported the decision to fine Coach Vaughn in accordance with conference recommendations.
Coastal Carolina released the following joint statement from the Office of the President and Department of Athletics:
“Coastal Carolina is committed to maintaining the highest standards of sportsmanship and accountability. While our football program’s success has elevated the visibility of the university, it has also raised expectations for professionalism at every level. We appreciate Coach Vaughn’s competitive spirit and leadership, but his recent comments do not reflect the values of this institution or the ACC.”
Coach Vaughn has been informed of the disciplinary action and will continue to serve in his full coaching capacity. The university considers this matter resolved internally and will not comment further.
While the exact amount of the fine was not disclosed, it is believed to be one of the largest ever issued to a coach in the conference for non-game-related conduct.
The Chanticleers, now 10–0 and ranked among the nation’s top contenders, have thrived under Vaughn’s unapologetically fiery leadership. But with the spotlight brighter than ever, the message from both the ACC and Coastal appears clear: the program’s rise will be measured by its conduct as much as its success on the field.

may be too early at this point for the SEC narrative wise - but at some point it feels like a forgone conclusion if we keep whipping up on the ACC
