definitely crossed my mind, but tbf the Gators played me just as hard as Clemson did so we'll let the engine run out. If Miami ends up winning out, they win another fade :kghah:

Alabama's Sam Asiasi Becomes Latest Tide HB To Claim the Heisman

After powering the Alabama Crimson Tide to another undefeated season and an SEC Championship, sophomore running back Sam Asiasi has been named the 2032 Heisman Memorial Trophy winner, capping off one of the most dominant seasons in recent memory. Asiasi becomes the latest in a long line of Alabama greats to claim college football’s most prestigious individual honor, joining legends like Derrick Henry, Mark Ingram, and Najee Harris.

From the opening kickoff of the season, Asiasi was a force of nature. He finished with 1,722 rushing yards — third-most in the nation — and led all FBS players with 30 rushing touchdowns. His Heisman moment came on the biggest stage, torching Texas A&M in the SEC Championship for 225 yards and four touchdowns, sealing Alabama’s top seed in the College Football Playoff.

“It’s an honor to be joining the great pantheon of Crimson Tide running backs,” Asiasi said at the podium, holding the bronze trophy with a grin. “But like those who came before me, there’s a bigger prize we’re running for — a national championship.”

Asiasi’s clean sweep of major awards included the Maxwell, Walter Camp, and Doak Walker trophies, cementing his place as the face of college football’s most complete team.

Meanwhile, Coastal Carolina continued its dominance on the defensive side of the national awards circuit. Former Florida State linebacker Manu Filimoeatu, who transferred to the Chanticleers ahead of the 2032 season, became the latest Coastal defender to sweep the Bednarik, Nagurski, and Butkus awards after a historic campaign anchoring the nation’s top defense.

Not to be outdone, senior cornerback Mike Momah brought home the Jim Thorpe Award, giving Coastal two of the sport’s highest defensive honors. It marks the third straight year that at least one Chanticleer defender has taken home a national award — a testament to the program’s growing reputation as a defensive powerhouse under head coach Kade Vaughn.

Coastal Carolina Announces Re-Assignment of AD Chance Miller

Image

Conway, SC. - Even as teal and black confetti settled over Bank of America Stadium, the celebration in Conway was tempered by unexpected change. Less than 24 hours after Coastal Carolina claimed its second consecutive ACC Championship, a 54–42 shootout win over Clemson, the university announced that Athletic Director Chance Miller has been reassigned within the athletic department, marking the end of a turbulent but defining era for Chanticleer athletics.

In a statement released Sunday afternoon, Coastal confirmed that Miller will transition into a new role as Senior Associate Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Alumni Engagement, a position the school described as “focused on advancing university initiatives and fostering broader institutional relationships.”

The move effectively removes Miller from day-to-day oversight of the football program, a responsibility that has become increasingly fraught amid head coach Kade Vaughn’s fiery public persona, repeated clashes with the ACC, and the growing scrutiny surrounding Coastal’s meteoric rise to national prominence.

Multiple sources within the program described the reassignment as the culmination of months of rising internal tension between Miller and Coastal’s upper administration, particularly university president James Winebrake and compliance liaison Monica Esposito.

Miller, who had opposed the ACC’s recommended fines for Vaughn following his inflammatory remarks dating back to the 2031 Fiesta Bowl, reportedly clashed with leadership over what he viewed as “performative discipline” that eroded Coastal’s autonomy. One source familiar with the discussions said Miller was “tired of being the buffer” between Vaughn’s antics and administrative pressure from the ACC office.

“Chance always believed in letting Kade be Kade,” the source said. “He thought the passion, the edge, all of it, was part of what made Coastal special. But the stress of constantly managing that relationship wore him down. This move feels like both sides finally exhaled.”

While Coastal’s release lauded Miller’s tenure — highlighting the Chanticleers’ transition from independent status to ACC membership, a new facilities expansion, and multiple New Year’s Six appearances, highlighted by a 2028 National Championship, it also acknowledged the need for “sustained leadership continuity and program discipline” moving forward.

In a brief statement, Winebreak said the university would begin a national search for a new athletic director with an emphasis on “integrity, accountability, and the continued growth of Chanticleer athletics on a national scale.”

Coach Vaughn, for his part, was not made available to reporters Sunday but issued a short message on social media late in the evening:

“Chance believed in this place before anyone else did. He’s family, and always will be. Teal runs deep.”

The message, while brief, underscores the deep mutual respect between Vaughn and Miller and perhaps hints at the friction Coastal will face as it transitions toward new leadership.

For now, Coastal remains the talk of college football, heading into the postseason undefeated and back in the College Football Playoff for a second straight year. But beneath the celebration lies an unmistakable tension: the sense that the Chanticleers’ meteoric rise has come with growing pains that no amount of teal confetti can quite conceal.

Coastal Lands #1 Overall Prospect On Early Signing Day, Finish With 4th Best Class of 2032

Image

Conway, SC. - Three years ago, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers shocked the college football landscape when #1 overall prospect Antonio Tripuckia chose Conway over Oregon and USC. Fast forward to 2033, and Coach Kade Vaughn has done it again — landing another top overall recruit from the West Coast powerhouse pipeline.

This time, it’s Chip Sabri, a 6’7”, 308-pound offensive tackle out of Salt Lake City, Utah, who stunned recruiting analysts nationwide by committing to Coastal over hometown BYU and perennial Pac-12 contender Oregon.

“You look at what they’ve done developing pro-caliber players the last few years — why wouldn’t you want to come here?” Sabri said after placing the teal Chanticleers hat on his head. “Seeing what Coach Vaughn and that staff have done with Tripuckia definitely factored into my decision. I want to be the next great one.”

Sabri, widely viewed as the most technically advanced tackle prospect in recent memory, brings a rare combination of elite length, polished footwork, and raw power. Scouting reports describe him as “a franchise left tackle in the making” — dominant in pass protection, explosive off the snap, and boasting a frame that still has room to add strength. His high football IQ and athleticism allow him to mirror even the quickest edge rushers, while his finishing mentality in the run game fits perfectly with Coastal’s physical spread-option identity.

The late signing of Sabri capped yet another stellar recruiting haul for Coastal, as the Chanticleers finished No. 4 nationally by the end of the early signing period. Vaughn’s 2033 class features four five-star recruits, headlined by #1 QB Anthony Prude, #2 WR Darin Best, and now #1 overall OT Chip Sabri — a trio that could define the next era of Chanticleer football.

Not every battle went Coastal’s way, however. The Chanticleers were edged out by in-state rival Clemson for 5-star DE Jose Jones (#23 overall) and G Sidney Jackson (#416 overall), while Georgia secured commitments from T Mike Butts (#36 overall) and DE Shawn Lanning (#9 overall).

When asked about the few recruiting misses, Vaughn didn’t flinch.

“Coastal’s not for everyone,” he said. “But if you choose to play for a rival instead of us, just know — you’ll come to regret it when we meet on the field.”

Atlanta, GA. - The Florida Gators gave the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers their closest scare of the 2032 campaign, pushing the reigning ACC champions to the brink in a 21–20 thriller earlier this year. This time around, there would be no drama — and no mercy.

Coastal blitzed Florida from the opening kick, racing to a 21–0 first-quarter lead and never looking back en route to a dominant 55–14 win that punched their ticket to the Sugar Bowl.

“We knew what happened last time — we let them hang around,” said QB Fredrick Meredith. “That wasn’t going to happen again.”

The Chanticleers opened the night with a methodical touchdown drive, forced a punt, then immediately struck again. On the ensuing kickoff, CB Keke Allotely forced a fumble that Coastal recovered and quickly turned into a third touchdown. The Gators hadn’t even hit 30 total yards of offense before trailing by three scores.

Florida managed to claw back with a pair of late field goals before halftime, cutting the deficit to 28–6, and came out of the locker room swinging. QB Clayton Heggie hit WR Terrell Merritt for a 78-yard bomb to start the third quarter, trimming the margin to 28–14 after a successful two-point try.

But that brief flicker of hope didn’t last long.

After a defensive stop, Florida had the ball and momentum — until DE Ramon Queiro took over, logging back-to-back sacks on second and third down to snuff out the drive. On the very next series, WR Tavares Tinker burned the Gators secondary for a 72-yard touchdown to restore order.

From there, Coastal poured it on. Florida’s backup quarterback David Ugwoegbu entered late in the fourth quarter and threw three interceptions, one of which CB Xavier Montague returned for a touchdown — a bit of redemption after allowing Merritt’s earlier long score.

Then, with two seconds left and the ball on the 13-yard line after another Montague interception, Coach Kade Vaughn called one final run play. Justice Spear punched it in for a touchdown, then waved goodbye to the few Florida fans still remaining in the Superdome stands.

The victory marked Vaughn’s 101st career win, eclipsing the century mark in just eight seasons as a head coach, and improving his postseason record to 7–3.

Next up for the Chanticleers: a Sugar Bowl clash with the No. 6 Oklahoma State Cowboys, who survived a triple-overtime thriller over Nebraska, 50–48, to keep their Cinderella run alive.

Image
Justice Spear may be the most underrated back in the country as he continues to be the engine that keeps Coastal rolling, tallying another 135 rushing yards as he's knocking on the door step of 2K for the season.

Image
Terrell Merritt snuck behind Xavier Montague to open the 3rd quarter and draw the Gators within two touchdowns of the Chanticleers, the closest they would get in the contest.

Image
Montague got his revenge with two 4th Q interceptions, including this fade on the goal line he would take back for a 101 yard touchdown return.

Image
Ramon Queiro feasted on Clayton Heggie, logging 4 sacks and 6 TFLs in a disruptive effort.
