I mean, not too bad circumstances considering the transfer portal ban. That's one hell of a recruiting board all things considered. This running game is going to have go nuclear with the change at quarterback.

Heismans don't count if you win it with the broken rush defense
you'd know its not as broken as some make it out to be if you'd stop hate bashing Lebby and actually play a fkn game
But you right
The worse part is that they fixed the run defense and then patched it and broke it

Stanford running back and return specialist Dakota Granderson enters the transfer portal
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider
Stanford running back Dakota Granderson, who opened last year's Michigan game with a kickoff return for a touchdown on the first play of the game, has entered the transfer portal.
Granderson is among the thirteen players that entered the portal prior to the deadline and was projected to be in the mix to be the spell back behind starter Trumaine Lasike.
The other notable was receiver Nate Devey who caught seventeen passes last season and was projected to be a potential starter. Eduardo Enriquez was also one of the potential candidates to see a bigger role this season at receiver.

Stanford Football: 2030 Cardinal Season Preview and Prediction
Athlon Sports Staff Writer • 8 min read
Head coach: Bubba Mack (3rd year)
Offensive Coordinator: Richard Wiley (3rd year)
Defensive Coordinator: Brian Stewart (3rd year)
2029 record: 13-2, 6-2 (3rd in ACC)
Preseason All-American: LT Neil Pryor (first)
Preseason All-ACC: LT Neil Pryor (first), WR Zach Yelk (second)
Replacing Tavien St. Clair was no easy task and while Zach Hoppes paled in comparison to St. Clair's Heisman worthy play the year before, Stanford's running game was able to get them into the playoffs for the first time in school history and won two playoff games. While the transfer portal ban of this past offseason might have been the story, the Cardinal still managed to bring in a talented recruiting class and even with the loss of Hoppes to the portal, they have one of the better rosters in the ACC.
Previewing Stanford's Offense for 2030
A third quarterback in as many years but it might not matter. The Cardinal's identity on offense begins with their running game, headlined by Trumaine Lasike who rushed for 1,640 yards and seventeen touchdowns and that's with him beginning the year as RB3.
The Cardinal have a talented offensive line, including potential top-five pick at left tackle in Neil Pryor and a a third-year starter at right tackle in Jameson Flood. They're going to pound most ACC teams into submission, just as they did last year.
Alex Rowe projects to be the starter at quarterback and while limited athletically, he might be a better passer than Hoppes. The loss of Jalen Ramsay is a big one at receiver but they do bring back tight end Tyrone Nicks, who won the Mackey two years ago, and have some intriguing young talent that are finally going to get their shot this season in Rodney Cookus and a trio of freshmen receivers in Alfonso Bramble, Kyle Morrison and Brent Baker.

Previewing Stanford's Defense for 2030
The loss along the front are major ones as Adam Shovlin was a key piece of this defense for the last few seasons and they also lose a few defensive tackles to graduation as well as the entire cornerback room in Rukeem Stroud, DeAndre Megna and Lonnie McAllister.
They do bring back safety Jimmie Winston and J.T. Kipper projects to play a bigger role after being a solid depth piece the last few years but as a whole, the secondary is a question mark and the defensive front, outside of Javon Canady are huge question marks.
The strength of the team lies within their two linebackers in Manu Toomer and Isaiah Lanovoi. Lanovoi had eighteen tackles for loss and Toomer was a stat sheet stuffer with over 100 tackles, nineteen tackles for loss, three sacks and three interceptions along with a defensive touchdown. They might be the best linebacker pairing in the ACC and should be a fun watch.
Schedule (2029 record)
vs. Hawaii (5-7, 2-6 MWC)
at Kennesaw State (8-6, 5-3 C-USA)
OPEN
at No. 8 SMU (11-3, 7-1 ACC)
at Georgia Tech (5-7, 4-4 ACC)
at Louisville (3-9, 2-6 ACC)
at No. 13 Notre Dame (11-2)
at Syracuse (2-10, 1-7 ACC)
at No. 11 Miami (9-4, 5-3 ACC)
vs. Wake Forest (4-8, 2-6 ACC)
vs. NC State (3-9, 2-6 ACC)
vs. California (6-7, 3-5 ACC)
vs. No. 3 Oklahoma (15-1, 8-0 SEC)
Another front loaded schedule that features seven straight road games, including trips to No. 8 SMU, No. 13 Notre Dame and No. 11 Miami. Sandwiched between that, however, are extremely winnable games including Bubba Mack's return to Kennesaw State and the chance to avenge last year's loss to California. They end the season with another rematch against Oklahoma, the defending national champions who beat Stanford in the playoffs.
Projected ACC Standing: 5th
Projected Final Record: 9-3
Despite their high preseason ranking, based off last year's success, the lack of depth makes the seven straight road games concerning. Even if they somehow split SMU, Notre Dame, Miami and Oklahoma, there's probably another loss somewhere in that schedule as the portal ban has cut into the experience depth required to navigate a Power 4 schedule.

That's a tough ass schedule. I think the projection might be accurate. 1 of Miami or Oklahoma catches you and then two random losses sounds about right.

Stanford releases depth chart with Alex Rowe as starter at quarterback
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider
Stanford has released its first official depth chart of the 2030 season and as expected, redshirt sophomore Alex Rowe is the starting quarterback for the Cardinal.
Rowe took most of the first team snaps throughout the spring which continued into the summer and fall camp, even with the arrival of four freshmen quarterbacks, including Erik Weston who is named as the backup.
The depth chart is littered with true freshman on the two-deep, including running back Rashawn Crouse and two receivers in Kyle Morrison and Alfonso Bramble that are listed as co-starters. Defensive tackles Tim Bing and Deontae Shorter are co-starters as well while former five-star prospect Kentrell Marvin gets the start in the nickel.

definitely going to be a #RTDB year
offensive line could damn well be the best in the country and Masifilio could be dangerous out of the backfield. Rowe doesn't impress much, but with that high SAC mesh and motion plays are going to be money
whats the plan on defense? The Dline doesn't stand out much and as you said, the secondary is sus. Blitz and hope the secondary can hold up, or keep the best playmakers in coverage (LB) and hope to limit them to short gains?

man tough loss to Oklahoma but at least you can say you lost to the champs lol. I like seeing you schedule the rematch to finish the season. What a solid recruiting class you guys brought in even without the portal. Love the season preview, I think 9 wins is pretty spot on while looking at that schedule.

That offensive line is insane. Like Sox said, might be able to break some rushing records with this team. Going to sink or swim by it.
