Week 5 Preview: at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Team Schedule

at #7 LSU (3-1): L 37-34

Team Leaders
Passing: Vernon Westerman 60 cmp%, 858 yards, 6 TD, 3 INT, 142.7 passer rating
Rushing: Matt Brower 189 yards, 3 ypc, 3 TD
Receiving: DeMario Moffatt 18 receptions, 301 yards, TD
Defense: Frank Cockrill 5 tackles, 4 TFL, 3.5 sacks

Injuries
Image EDGE Javon Canady (Junior) Abdominal Tear (Out)
Image DT Joey Meers (Senior) Foot Fracture (Out)

Players to Watch
Image QB Vernon Westerman (R-Sr) | 6′1″, 204LBS | 85 OVR, 77 SPD, 84 ACC, 88 THP, 82 SAC, 82 MAC, 84 DAC
A fourth straight for Stanford against a multi-year starter as Westerman was solid for the Yellow Jackets last year. He's struggled with accuracy and when he's not in rhythm, the ball can get away from him. He's a decent athlete and showed some ability to extend plays against LSU, throwing for 349 yards but was also sacked six times. The Yellow Jackets will look to get Westerman going early against this Stanford defense that is coming off a terrible performance against SMU.

Image EDGE Ja'Darius Bryant (R-Sr) | 6′4″, 298LBS | 89 OVR, 91 SPD, 92 ACC, 87 STR, 77 PMV, 85 FMV, 70 BSH
Bryant is sneakily one of the better athletes in the conference at 298 pounds with impressive movement skills. The production hasn't always been there for him, recording just three sacks in the last two seasons but he'll be a key piece in the Yellow Jackets attempts at slowing down this Stanford running game that is surely going to be looking to re-establish itself after last week's loss.

Image CB Rashaad Winston (R-Jr) | 6′3″, 183LBS | 77 OVR, 98 SPD, 99 ACC, 67 PRC, 63 MCV, 73 ZCV, 61 PRESS
The Purdue transfer has been picked on this season, already allowing ten catches, including five against LSU. While he's an elite athlete, Winston isn't always in the right position and can get fooled at times with double moves. If Stanford's pass rush can hold up against the likes of Bryant and the Yellow Jackets' defensive front, they could choose to attack Winston with star receiver Rodney Cookus who has strung together some really good performances.
