Bulls add pair of tight ends in Moore and Golden ahead of busy weekend for staff
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider
Three-star tight ends Chris Golden and Thomas Moore both committed to USF earlier this week as the USF coaching staff now turns their attention into perhaps the most important recruiting weekend of this cycle.
Golden and Moore were both considered locks as USF now has seven players committed in the class. Golden has prototypical size for the position at six-foot-seven and 257 pounds while Moore, coming in at six-feet and 231 pounds, is more of a blocking, H-back type.
USF will be hosting four-star defensive end Sheldon Corbett this weekend in what has been a long and hard fought recruiting battle for the former USF commit. With many experts pegging USF third in the race, an impressive weekend is all that can keep the Bulls in the race for the six-foot-seven defensive end.
USF is also hosting three-star defensive tackle Ross Barron and three-star linebackers Gary Prince and Jeffrey Reese. Both linebackers are considered to be on commit watch while Barron has an outside shot of committing to USF but with a visit scheduled to FIU next week, that is unlikely. As far as landing the big fish in Corbett, that remains to be an unlikely occurrence.
The Bulls are trending in a negative direction when it comes to four-star commit WR Tyrone Gibbons. Gibbons visited Ole Miss last week and received two Crystal Balls to the Rebels. At this moment, a decommitment is expected to come in the next few days. USF does have a backup option, however, should they want to add another receiver to the class besides WR Chris Walker. They kicked the tires on Heath Woods earlier in the season and even offered the three-star WR before cooling off on him and not willing to accept his commitment. Should Gibbons commit elsewhere, which is now looking like the case, Woods would be a viable replacement.
