Local three-star G Maurice Williams commits to USF as Bulls continue to make push for five-star OT Alex Parham
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

USF got a commitment over the weekend from three-star offensive guard Maurice Williams out of Tampa, Florida to give the class it's fourth committed member and a boost in the rankings as USF sit at #43.

Williams is a six-foot-one, 291 pound prospect that projects to either staying at guard or moving to center. USF is hoping to pair him with another Tampa guard in three-star Jamie Babcock who is more of a hybrid at six-foot-four due to his ability to potentially play at right tackle.

The top target on the offensive line, however, remains five-star Alex Parham out of Boaz, Alabama. Parham is a six-foot-four, 282 pound elite tackle that is being recruited by the likes of California, Miami and Oklahoma.

Parham is supposed to be on campus in a few weeks when the Bulls play the Cincinnati Bearcats. Four-star defensive tackle E.J. Newsome out of Fultondale, Alabama is also supposed to be at that game.

Parham commits to Miami following visit leaving USF's offensive line class in shambles
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

USF head coach Malcolm Francois typically gets the big time recruits he goes all in on but the University of Miami had other plans.

Miami was able to leap frog early favorites Cal and USF to land five-star offensive tackle Alex Parham, who committed during his visit to Miami and cancelled his visit to South Florida later this month.

Parham, the #1 ranked offensive tackle in the nation, was one of just two remaining targets for the Bulls this cycle on the offensive line. The other is offensive guard Jamie Babcock who the Bulls are desperately trying to hang onto as UCF makes a surge.

The Bulls did offer four-star receiver Marco Mason out of Miami, Florida and three-star JUCO athlete Kyle Bennett out of Englewood, Florida over the weekend.

On the surface, it appears that USF is closing up shop on the offensive line with not a lot of viable targets available on the market. The Bulls did sign a potential left tackle last cycle in true freshman Nic Haynes and at right tackle have a redshirt sophomore in Isaac Gutierrez and a redshirt freshman in Quinton Payne. Brian Brown is a redshirt freshman at guard and projects to start next season. The situation isn't dire but having a one or two man class at offensive line isn't a habit USF wants to form.
