Heisman winner Troy Henry will not play in Sugar Bowl vs. Ole Miss
Anthony Washington -- The Tampa Bay Chronicles

South Florida running back and Heisman winner Troy Henry will not play in the Allstate Sugar Bowl against Ole Miss. Henry announced the decision via his social media page.

Henry rushed for a school record 2125 yards this season along with 28 touchdowns. He also led the team in receptions with 59 catches on the season for 519 yards and four touchdowns. Henry left the Big 12 Championship Game with a broken rib and has been dealing with an elbow injury for the latter part of the season.

While Henry will not play, he is expected to travel with the team to New Orleans and has yet to formally declare for the draft and hire an agent. It is widely expected that the Alabama native will declare for the draft following the game.

With less than two weeks to go before the game, no other opt-outs have been announced.

Quarterback James Pittman is expected to get the start although head coach Malcolm Francois has remained mum on the issue, only stating that the quarterback position is "wide open" during bowl practices.

He's nearing 300 carries on the season, suffered two different injuries in the last few games of the season and is a running back. go get paid, son.

Bulls Have Last Word in Thrilling Allstate Sugar Bowl Win vs. Ole Miss
After playing a marvelous half of football, it didn't take long for Malcolm Francois Jr. to find out about the roller coaster ride of college football. Francois was beaten on fourth down for a 42-yard gain and two plays later, appeared to be out of position on the game-tying touchdown with 1:09 left in the game.

Francois returned the ensuing kickoff 63 yards to set up a potential game winning field goal but it was missed by Ricky Turner. The Bulls would need overtime to put away the Rebels and wrap up yet another 12-win season with a 23-20 Sugar Bowl victory.

USF played all four quarterbacks with James Pittman getting the start. Eric Shaw ended the game, playing in the fourth quarter and overtime as well. USF was keen on emptying the bench with several starters, including safety Sam Peterson, not playing in the second half. Peterson's absence allowed for Francois Jr., the son of the Bulls head coach, to get his first extended playing time.
