We've been able to pull it out close a few times, finally went down. We have a favorable end to the season, however, and I could see us getting back into the BCS picture with a win over Tennessee and Florida State.Captain Canada wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 09:58Oh, that's....not a great look. Bulls Walk Off With a 51-29 Victory Over Tennessee
The usually festive and expressive South Florida Bulls were workman like in their approach against Tennessee on Saturday.
A few high-fives, head nods and pat on the helmets was the peak of celebrations for the Bulls, coming off their first loss in over a year. No matter the change in approach, it got the job done against Tennessee, beating the Volunteers 51-29 to take firm control of the SEC East division.
Jed White's interception issues continued, throwing two in the first half which kept the Vols in the game as USF got out to a ten point lead in the first half but couldn't quite put the game away.
All of that changed in the fourth quarter with back to back long touchdown runs by Dion Rogers and White, who both finished with over 100-yards on the ground. White had another 66-yard touchdown run with 0:51 left in the game to put a stamp on what was an impressive performance on the ground.
He also threw four touchdowns, his third breaking the school record for most passing touchdowns as a Bull with 68. White now holds all of the Bulls major passing records except for passing yards and in both a single game and a season. Mike McFarland holds the record with 500 yards in a game in 2024 while Marquel Blackwell still holds the record for most passing yards with 9108. White likely won't catch Blackwell as he needs nearly 3,000 more yards and a return for his senior season is not probable for the former Heisman winner.

Bulls jump back into top-five ranking with commitment from five-star WR Brent Slaughter
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider
When the University of South Florida decided to take a more national approach in recruiting the past few cycles, some raised eyebrows. Those eyebrows have subdued, for now at least, until fans get to see the end result on the field.
Five-star wide receiver Brent Slaughter out of Highland Park, Illinois has committed to the Bulls over the Naval Academy, Notre Dame, Alabama and Michigan State.
The second highest ranked recruit left on the Bulls' board, Slaughter has been considered a silent commitment for some time now by those close to the program and his commitment provides a nice boost of momentum heading into the first of two big visit weekends. Five-star ATH George Harrell and four-star tight end Josh Smith and four-star defensive end Cornelius Ross will be on campus this weekend along with three-star quarterback James Brown. The following weekend, the Bulls will host perhaps their biggest visit weekend of the year with five-star receiver Pat Newsome, four-star safeties Fred Jones and Brandon Benjamin, four-star offensive guard Lamar Felder, four-star defensive tackle Chris Mark, four-star offensive tackle Ben Brown, four-star linebacker Gary Adkins and JUCO quarterback George Mobley.
Focusing on Slaughter, the Bulls continue their trend of going out of state when looking for a big body receiver which is exactly what Slaughter is. A high school swiss army knife, Slaughter is listed as an athlete on most recruiting services and while some schools were recruiting him as a running back early in the recruitment process, Slaughter has outgrown the position and was measured at six-foot-five at the Rivals Future 50 camp this past summer.
The Bulls have had struggles with bigger receivers with six-foot-three Joel Bass out of Georgia back in the 2022 class being the most successful one out of the recent bunch. Benji Bright (six-foot-six) did not find much success beyond his freshman season while James Harper (six-foot-five) has gotten more run this season but has yet to make a big impact. Slaughter has similar testing numbers to both Bright and Harper although his off-the-field accolades as well as physical makeup has drawn comparisons to Bass. The son of a Navy veteran and high school football coach, Slaughter was previously committed to Harvard as a rising junior before reopening his recruitment fourteen months later.
Slaughter's commitment gives the Bulls the fifth ranked class in the nation with potentially two more five-stars to be added to the boat. As it currently stands, the Bulls lead all teams with three five stars committed to the class in what is still a relatively small class with eight commitments. The Bulls are expected to take as many as fourteen to eighteen commitments this cycle.
