.. For The Whole World To See | The Tiny Jimenez Story

Back To The UFC.

Dana White understood that I had to accept the boxing bout against Isaac Frost. It's highly unlikely I'll return to boxing unless it's for a tie-breaker against Isaac Frost or someone makes me an offer worth accepting.

The amount of publicity I received on a Jake Paul headlined PPV was incredible.

"There's a lot of fighters here who want to ruin your perfect record. My line's been blowing up. The middle weight division wants a piece of Tiny Jimenez after your fight with Frost." Dana told me.

"So being as your currently trending, we're going to put you as the last fight on the prelims before the PPV kicks off. Do well & we'll see about fitting you onto the main card for your next fight."

"So who's my next opponent?" I asked, eager to get back to business.

"Jared Cannonier. He likes to stand & bang too so we're expecting a great fight from you two. He's also the #15 ranked middleweight. That fight against Frost just propelled you into a big fight in the UFC. Don't fuck this up & the next will be better."

"Jared Cannonier. Where do I sign?"

Welcome To The Top-15.

With my victory over Jared Cannonier, I was now pushed up to the #15 rank in the Middleweight division.

Middleweight Rankings:
Champion - Israel Adesanya
#1 - Paulo Costa
#2 - Kelvin Gastelum
#3 - Derek Brunson
#4 - Marvin Vettori
#5 - Robert Whittaker
#6 - Yoel Romero
#7 - Chris Weidman
#8 - Brad Tavares
#9 - Kevin Holland
#10 - Uriah Hall
#11 - Khamzat Chimaev
#12 - Darren Till
#13 - Jack Hermansson
#14 - Dmitri Kuznetsov
#15 - Tiny Jimenez

The next fight I accepted was against #10 Uriah Hall, but 2 weeks before the fight he sustained a knee injury that would force him to miss our fight. The UFC was able to find a replacement fighter in #13 Jack Hermansson, & Uriah Hall & I will reschedule our bout for a future date.

UFC Fight Night 211: (23-7-0) Jack Hermansson vs. Tiny Jimenez (5-0-0)
Middleweight Bout, Preliminary Card: Feb. 5, 2022 - Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

Image

"IT'S TIIIIIIIIME!"

Image

As I expected facing a wrestler, Hermansson tried to take me down early in the first round. My improved ground game would come in handy against this fighter.

Image

A quick slip led to an armbar finish & Hermansson found himself as the first victim I defeated via submission.

Image

All smiles. Different strategy. Same result.

Winner:
T. Jimenez, 1st Rd Submission (3:24)

UFC Fight Night 217: (20-11-0) Uriah Hall vs. Tiny Jimenez (6-0-0)
Middleweight Bout, Main Card: Apr. 27, 2022 - Centre Bell Arena, Montreal, CA

Image

Uriah Hall has been my toughest opponent to date. He started this fight early with a strong head kick.

Image

Hall's attempt at some ground & pound was met by Jimenez's submission counter at the end of the 2nd round.

Image

A hard low kick to the outside left Hall unable to stand at the start of the final round.

Image

The referee Herb Dean called the match at 31 seconds in the third round due to Hall's leg injury.

Image

I picked up a big win over a respected veteran in the middleweight division. On to the next one.

Winner:
T. Jimenez, 3rd Rd KO/TKO (0:31)

UFC Fight Night 227: (7-0-0) Tiny Jimenez vs. Dmitri Kuznetsov (23-2-0)
Middleweight Bout, Main Card: Sep. 17, 2022 - Jeunesse Arena, Rio de Janeiro, BR

Image

Kuznetsov almost got the early victory after this unexpected superman punch left Jimenez stunned.

Image

Kuznetsov ended the first round mounted on Jimenez after some failed submission attempts.

Image

Tiny spent some time on top on the ground to start the second round.

Image

Jimenez's leg strike to the head hit at the perfect angle as Kuznetsov leaned into the kick while trying to throw a strike.

Image

Light's out. Sweet dreams, Kuznetsov.
