Lyric's Birthday Invitation.
With the NBA season over it was time for building relationships with family & friends. I received an invitation to attend the young gun Lyric Houston's 21st birthday party so that's what I was going to do. Lyric & I met on the court in San Antonio last year & he's quickly become one of my favorite competitors in the league.
If the invitation didn't give it away, he's a big spender & isn't afraid to show it. It doesn't help that one of the league's hottest rising stars also has one of the WWE's hottest females hanging off of his arm. There's more similarities to us than he's able to recognize at his young age, but dating WWE wrestlers is the most obvious one.
"I guess I missed the part about this was a pool party.." Tiny whispered to the topless woman during Lyric's birthday toast.
"Now will everyone please join in... Happy Birthday to you.." Toni Storm said as she led the group in singing Happy Birthday to young Lyric.
Shortly after the song, Tiny was able to catch up with Lyric for a moment of his time.
"Tiny! I'm so happy you could make it out here today to celebrate with us! I can't believe you guys got upset in the first round to the Cavs though!" Lyric said as he & Tiny shared a quick shake to a hug.
"Thanks for inviting me. & yeah, tell me about it. Darius Garland had my number in that series." I said back with a chuckle.
"Also dig, I missed the memo on the invitation to bring my swim suit. There's a lot of fine ass women here today!"
"I can look but I can't touch. Hey a man such as yourself should be able to jump in the pool with this suit as your swim suit." Lyric replied with a smile.
"Shit. My net worth isn't that high. This Dior suit stays dry. Salute to the King. Happy Birthday, bro." I said as a raised my glass.
The two of us cheered our glasses & Lyric disappeared back into the crowd to celebrate with his people. I decided to chat among fellow NBA players & WWE players I knew through Mandy or my time on the show last summer.
"Tiny! Hey! It's so nice to see you again. How have you been?" Sasha Banks said as she came around the corner. I didn't even notice she was in attendance.
"Hey, Sasha! It's been a while. I'm doing good. Just been working every day trying to get better on the court for next season. I came out here to support Lyric of course & I'm assuming you're here for.."
"Yes, that's right. I'm here for Toni. I don't really know where she is though.." Sasha said as she began to look for her friend in the sea of people.
"Good luck finding her in that. I'm thinking about taking off soon as I've been here for a few hours already. Interested in coming along?" I asked as I extended my hand to her to join me.
She pondered for a moment.
"Why not? I don't have any plans for tomorrow until my flight around noon."
She grabbed my hand & I walked us out of the party to my car.
"Is my hotel room cool? If the two of us get spotted out in San Antonio together we'll never be able to escape the crowd." I said with a laugh.
"Sounds like you read my mind."
I turned & looked at her as her smile told me everything I needed to know. It's Boss Time.
