The Future Track Star.

The next morning after our victory over the Hawks I decided to head over to a friend's gym located just outside of downtown Atlanta. Amid all of the weights is a ring used by both MMA fighters & boxers alike. As I wasn't making a public appearance, the gym wasn't very crowded which meant very minimal distractions. I was able to get back in the octagon & teach a few teenagers how to clinch & how to defend in the clinch. It was a lot of fun & I didn't have to take many pictures to draw attention to myself.

As I was leaving, I noticed a young man that was very frustrated sitting by himself in the grass.

“Hey. What’s the matter, kid?”

“Huh? Oh, hi. It’s nothing.”

“You all right? You didn’t hurt your leg or anything, did you?”

“I’m fine. You see, I’m a sprinter on a track team, & I’m trying to improve my time. When I asked my coach for advice, he just told me I should work on my form or I’ll never get any better.”

“Sounds like good advice to me.”

“But whenever I try to fix my posture & focus on breathing & all that, my time just gets worse & worse.”

“Hey I’ve been in your shoes before. All it takes is a determined attitude & continued hard work & you’ll get there!”

“You say that, but it feels like all this work is getting me nowhere… It’s like I haven’t made any progress at all.”

(Poor kid. As much as I wanna help, I don’t know the first thing about track.)

Just as I was trying to think of what piece of advice I could offer him, an idea came to me.

“I got it! Here! Have some of this!”

(Tiny pulled out the bowl containing the extra hot kimchi from his backpack & extends the offer to the troubled athlete.)

“What's that? I’m not so sure I understand, mister.”

“Try it. There’s a special pepper in it called ‘devils claw’, & I think it might help you with your problem.”

"I'm not sure that's a good idea, but I'll try anything at this point."

The young boy reaches into the bowl to grab himself a decent portion of the kimchi that Tiny was gifted from the old man a few weeks prior.

“Hot.. Hot…. HOTTTTTT!!!!!!!”

The young man immediately dashed up the street like the Flash & was soon out of sight.

”Oops. Maybe I should’ve told him just to get a pinch.. I should probably go check on him.”

Tiny headed up the street & eventually found the young boy enjoying an ice cream cone outside of the ice cream parlor.

”There you are. Is everything all right?”

"Are you trying to kill me, mister!?"

Tiny began to apologize before the boy cut him off.

“While that was the worst few minutes of my life for a moment.. It was… Peeeeerfect!”

”Really?”

(The way he took off running, I wasn’t expecting this reaction.)

“Yup. As my mind succumbed to the searing heat & pain, I could feel my ego dissolving. For a moment, it felt like I was falling through reality… & then… I became a God.”

”....”

“If I can just keep this up, I’ll shatter my record in no time! & then the national record is next!”

(He’s a bit ahead of himself.)

”That’s right.”

“Thank you, spice-bearer. I want to buy some more of this kimchi right now! It was so tasty!” The boy said.

"I met a man in Orlando who sells it. Here's his information."

Tiny writes down the location of where he found the old man's booth just a couple of weeks ago.

"Thanks, mister! Hey I've got to get back to the gym! My big brother just texted me & said Tiny Jimenez is in there teaching people how to fight! He sent me a picture message, but it won't load.."

(He must not have a clue what I look like. I would imagine this boy to be around 13 or 14 years old.)

"I better get back & maybe I can get an autograph! Thanks for the kimchi!"

Tiny smiled as he watched the boy sprinting just as fast as he did when he tried the kimchi, now in a hurry to meet Tiny Jimenez with his big brother. He placed the kimchi back into his backpack & returned to the hotel before flying back to New York City hours later.

I like this team. Dejounte Murray playing sixth man is  but I don’t like they lost Sabonis & Turner. They should’ve tried to keep one. They’re a pretty solid team though I like the roster. Collin Sexton averages like 31 ppg on this squad :drose:
