Strong end to the season. Tough way to get all that momentum stomped on in the the play-in game. I'm sure season 7 will bring better results.

BREAKING NEWS.

"Oh my god!" I said as De'Aaron Fox's name was announced in a trade for the #8 pick in the NBA draft.

"He's been there forever." Richaun Holmes said. "Surprised it took them this long to move him..

I watched the draft alongside a handful of my teammates who I invited over to the crib. Treysi Royal, Russell Westbrook, Gheorge Paven, & Richaun Holmes sat in my living room as we knocked back a couple of beers & waited to see what was going to happen next.

We finally got to our pick at #14 when Adam Silver announced our selection.

"Let's go! Leon Whitney was balling his ass off at Kent State this year!" I said as the Trail Blazers drafted a small forward in the draft. Until Cody Martin joined the team, the 3 was our weakest position on the floor.

Eventually as we made it closer to the end of the first round our interest from the television quickly turned to conversations about the upcoming NBA season.

In the middle of our hangout my cell phone rang. It was my agent.

"My agent's calling me?" I said as I gave my teammates a puzzled look.

"Excuse me while I go take this call."

...

I returned to my teammates with a different expression than I had prior to the phone call. At the exact moment Treysi Royal asked me what was up, Russell Westbrook stumbled across the next breaking news headline during the NBA draft via Twitter, before the announcement on live television.



I was no longer a member of the Portland Trail Blazers & instead found myself back in the title picture as the NBA champion' Indiana Pacers made a trade for me with the #31 pick in the draft.

"Whoa!" Treysi Royal shouted as things became real very quickly.

"Well, good luck to you in Indiana." Russell said to me.

"I'm not sure what to say, guys."

"It's the NBA. Don't sweat it, man." Russ told me. "We weren't going to win the title next season. I guess Portland decided to move on from you quicker than you wanted to move on from them."

I sat in disbelief as I would be joining my 4th team in 7 seasons. 1 year in Phoenix, 4 in New York, and 1 in Portland. Let's see what's ahead with Collin Sexton & Zion Williamson in Indianapolis.
