Tiny Visits Morning Glory Orphanage In Newark.

Image

After the Pacers win over the Knicks on Sunday night, Tiny decided to take a moment to visit his hometown just across the river in Newark, New Jersey.

A 4x UFC champion & 2x NBA champion, Tiny Jimenez has become a staple for the residents of Newark. Many look at him as a hometown hero & a model for success. That it is possible to overcome adversity & get out of hood with hard work & dedication. Tiny feels the same way about Newark, donating millions into the city's development as well as opening his own school for underprivileged youth, The I Believe School, set to open it's doors in August for the 2029 school year.

However, this visit would be a short yet impactful one as he decided to visit the Morning Glory Orphanage to spend the day with the children residing in the home.

The director of Morning Glory was waiting outside to greet Tiny along with her assistant when his car pulled up.

"Hello, Tiny Jimenez! It's a real pleasure. My name is Meilei I'm the head director here at Morning Glory. This is my assistant, Amy."

"Welcome, sir!" Amy said as she reached out to shake Tiny's hand.

"The pleasure's all mine, ladies. Truly. What you're doing here for the kids is tremendous & I can't say thank you enough for taking care of the less fortunate children here in Newark." Tiny replied.

"Oh it's what we love doing! The kids here are a real treat too! They were excited to know you would be stopping by today so please come inside & meet everyone!" Meilei exclaimed as she gestured towards the front door.

"I can't believe you're here! I'm so excited! My Mom is going to freak out when I tell her who stopped by today.." Amy said as she reached for the door to let Tiny in.

"Umm attention everybody, we have a guest here to see you all!" Meilei shouted inside to draw everyone to the living room.

Once everyone was present, Meilei gave a quick introduction of each resident of Morning Glory.

"From oldest to youngest, we have Ellie Nelson at 17 turning 18 next month, Kenyon Castleberry & Matteo Pena both just turned 17, Winona Lee is 14, Savannah Briggs is 8 & Eric Pickles is 7."

"You play in the NBA?! That's so cool!" The youngest child, Eric, shouted to Tiny Jimenez as he recognized the logo on his shirt.

"That's right! Are you a basketball player, Eric?" Tiny asked him as he leaned down to fist bump the kid.

"Kinda, but Matteo & Kenyon are! They're so good!"

Tiny turned his attention to the two oldest boys in the room.

"So you two are hoopers?"

Both of them looked at each other & grinned before saying yes.

"You're the biggest legend at our school. We both go to Science Park High School. Man, I'm like your biggest fan.." Matteo said.

"Hey, thank you for the support! & Science Park, eh? hah! My old school! How's your basketball season going? I'm assuming since it's the middle of March that you're either still playing or have wrapped up?"

"We just got bounced out by Camden. It was a good game. Double overtime..." Kenyon replied.

"It was a good game at least.. until I missed the game-winning shot."

Kenyon dropped his head before Matteo came & patted him on his back.

"Hey it's all right, bro! We'll be back next year & you'll make that shot. Maybe Tiny will teach us a couple of his moves so we can be clutch like him." Matteo joked.

Tiny shrugged back as if to suggest he would love to share his wisdom with the two boys. Inspired by their faces, Tiny made a proposition for all of the residents at Morning Glory.

"I love that right there. These two's tight bond. I can see a lot of personality in this room. A lot of happy faces & a lot of love. I wanted to stop by here today to thank you for your resiliency in this life. You've had to live much different lives than your fellow classmates at school & it takes a lot of courage, so Meilei & Amy, let's give these fine young men & women a standing ovation."

The two women stood & joined Tiny as everyone's face in the room began to light up.

"So it's my honor to extend the offer to you all to join me next year as students at the I Believe School next semester. My team will consist of the best teachers & the best coaches & we will do our very best to help you succeed at making an impact in this world. But that's not all. I'm also going to be donating $50,000 to Morning Glory. You kids really deserve it for your hardwork."

"That's such exciting news, everybody! Thank you so much for this, Tiny! How could we ever thank you?" Amy asked as tears began to form in her eyes.

"Nothing. Your love is thanks enough. Keep up the hard work, & show the World what the Brick City is all about!"

Tiny spent the next couple of hours spending time with the children of Morning Glory, including playing a couple of pickup basketball games with Kenyon & Matteo. Before leaving, he decided to give both of the boys his personal number to keep in contact with him as well as send them more information regarding their future as basketball players for The I Believe School next school year.
