Preview of the 93rd Rocky Mountain Showdown

One of the most controversial hits of the season in college football came in the Rocky Mountain Showdown last season
The contest figures to be a classic “strength-on-strength” matchup. Colorado looks to attack opposing defenses with their star studded passing game, led by QB Shedeur Sanders and Hunter. They face a Ram defense that is spearheaded by its secondary, with Blackburn and defensive captain Jack Howell leading the way for CSU. Hunter, one of the premier defensive backs in the country in addition to starring at receiver, faces a decisive matchup with fellow professional prospect Tory Horton on the other side of the ball. So far this season, CSU has struggled to find consistent weapons aside from Horton - so if Hunter locks him up, the Rams could be in for a long day.

The Hunter vs Horton battle could make or break CSU's hopes of an upset
The two programs are meeting in Fort Collins for the first time since 1996 (and in just the 28th home game for the Rams in the rivalry) and excitement around the CSU campus could not be higher. Canvas Stadium, opened in 2017, is set to achieve a new stadium attendance record, with the game sold out and a maximum capacity crowd of around 41,000 spectators expected. Pre-game events include the "Grilling the Buffs" cookout, a March to Victory parade, and an extended tailgate period before the contest officially opens with the game ball being parachuted into the stadium.

Got me hyped enough to do an extended preview

I'm gonna try to do something similar before every rivalry game, I think
Gotta try to live up to the shirts the school was selling for the game

I've never noticed before, but does Travis Hunter actually start at both WR and CB in CFB 25?

I'm a little sad that his defensive stats don't save after finishing the game - but he kicked my ass
Total Stat line for Hunter: 7 catches, 155 yards, 2 TD, 10 Tackles, 4 PBU

I knocked him out for one play and it triggered the game's "Last Year in This Rivalry" commentary

Was all too fitting - but yeah. Travis got his revenge.
Losing by half as much doesn't feel much better, but at least it wasn't a record defeat. Depressing silver lining, but it's there
Took me a while to get around to posting that one, but finally managed to have both the time and motivation for it. On to the next one here!
