Cam Ward's rookie campaign comes to a close as he heads to IR
Cam Ward is officially heading to the injured reserve list as the Tennessee Titans have elevated Trevor Siemian from their practice squad to the active roster list, ending Ward's rookie season. Ward suffered multiple broken ribs against San Francisco after being sacked by fellow first round pick Mykel Williams who landed on Ward.

Ward ends the season with 3,508 passing yards along with twenty four touchdowns and eleven interceptions. He was sacked fifty-one times, the most of any NFL quarterback this season. As of this week, Ward ends his season top five in passing yards and top ten in passing touchdowns.

The injury does open the door for Carolina's Tetairoa McMillan to make a late run at the Offensive Rookie of the Year honors with six touchdowns on the season but even following the announcement that Ward was to miss the rest of the season, Ward remains the favorite according to Vegas odds to take home the trophy. Third in the odds is Ward's top receiver this season in Elic Ayomanor who leads the team with 851 receiving yards and six touchdowns, most among rookies. A Titans player hasn't won the award since Vince Young won it in 2006.

Brandon Allen will get the start with Siemian serving as his backup.

Kansas City escapes Tennessee with controversial fumble call
Playing their first full game without rookie quarterback Cam Ward, the Tennessee Titans showed fight but came up short in a 24-21 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

The decisive moment came midway through the third quarter when Brandon Allen, filling in for Ward, was strip-sacked by Kansas City’s Charles Omenihu. The ball was scooped by Mike Danna and returned 79 yards for a touchdown, stretching the Chiefs’ lead to 24-14. Titans coaches challenged, arguing Allen’s knee was down before the ball came loose, but the ruling stood after review — a decision that drew boos from the home crowd.

Allen, however, responded late. Trailing by 10 in the fourth quarter, he found Julius Chestnut on an 11-yard touchdown with 2:10 remaining, pulling Tennessee within a field goal. The Titans’ defense, which sacked Patrick Mahomes four times and intercepted him once, needed one final stop but couldn’t get it as Kansas City converted two first downs to bleed the clock.

Allen finished 23 of 39 for 252 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in his first extended action of the season. Calvin Ridley turned in a vintage performance with 10 catches for 130 yards and a score, while Chigoziem Okonkwo also added a first-half touchdown. The run game, however, sputtered with Tony Pollard held to just 36 yards and temporarily left the game with an injury in what has been a dissapointing year for the star running back.

For Kansas City, Mahomes threw for 320 yards and a touchdown, connecting often with Marquise Brown (74 yards, TD) and Travis Kelce (86 yards). Isiah Pacheco contributed both on the ground and as a receiver, totaling 100 yards and a rushing score.

The loss dropped the Titans to 3-12, while the Chiefs improved to 8-7 and stayed in the thick of the AFC playoff race.
