Back-to-back blowouts as Rockets launch past Spurs, 106-91

SAN ANTONIO -- If you didn't catch the previous game between these teams two nights ago, that's okay – tonight was basically a mirror image, as the Houston Rockets toppled the San Antonio Spurs, 106-91, for back-to-back wins.

It was the same old story, as the Spurs fell victim to poor shooting and sloppy turnovers.

"I don't know what it is about these guys, but they just keep stifling us," said Spurs assistant coach Brett Brown.

Tonight was slightly different in the sense that it was Harrison Barnes who led the way with 17 points, instead of Devin Vassell (scored 13 points on 5-for-11 shooting), while Victor Wembanyama chipped in with another double-double of 14 points and 11 boards, despite a poor shooting night.

The Spurs did come close to erasing an 18-point lead at one point in third quarter, and then again brought the game within seven points late in the fourth, but just couldn't sustain any rally long enough to tie the game up.

For Houston, Cam Whitmore played the unsung hero with 26 points off the bench.

Up Next -- The Spurs hit the road as they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder (1-2) who are coming off two road losses to the Bulls and Nuggets.

I won’t lie, I lowkey love having Barnes on the squad. Always been a fan of his game and play style. But we def need others to step up too.

what kind of shots you taking with wemby lmao i try to play like he does IRL with a good amount of mid/3pt attempts but i still stumble into like 6/7 easy dunks per game

Yessir, try to mix it up but the outside shots just weren’t falling in this one. He did go to the line 8 times, so man was getting hacked - and was often doubled. 6-7 dunks per game is WILD! Not sure how u stumble into those the most dunks per game for a player is usually 2-3 per game irl

put backs, fastbreaks, broken plays where the clock is down to 8-9 seconds so i just run pnr and either chuck it with devin vassell or dump it off to wemby for the easy dunk
