After 14 days of intergalactic travel, we finally made it to our destination. We were cleared to dock at the Citadel & I was about to take my first steps somewhere other than Earth.

"This is Tiny Jimenez.. & he's a creature from Earth." She said with a laugh as she put her arm around me & rested her head on my shoulder.

"Pleasure to meet you.." I said to the one behind the counter, cutting my eyes towards Faria for that joke.

"... Earth. I don't think we've had an Earth' creature visit the Citadel before. Welcome, Tiny Jimenez!"

"We call ourselves humans back on Earth.." I said as I just shrugged my shoulders.

"I see that you have a crutch. Such a cool vintage device! What brings you to the Citadel today?"

"We're here because we want to schedule a visit at the Medical Bay. Tiny had surgery back on Earth, but I thought we would see if there was anything available here to really speed his recovery.."

"Ah. I see! Well you're in luck, my friend.. I see some openings at the Bay so I'll go ahead & make an appointment for you today.. You two can head on in & enjoy your time at the Citadel! The Bay will call for you on the intercom when they're ready to see you.."

"Thanks, Kork." Faria said as she motioned for me to follow her through a heavy-duty security door into the Citadel.

"Uh.. Yeah, thanks.. Kork?"

I couldn't believe my eyes as I walked through the doors to reveal my first view at an otherworldly community. Beings with physical features beyond my comprehension working & socializing & living their every day lives.



"So, what do you think?"

"Not what I meant.." she said with a slight blush sans a grin. "What do you think of this place?"

I glanced up again & looked around as I struggled to find the words explaining my current thought process.

"It's reminding me of a giant shopping mall.. A very futuristic mall.."

"Uh.. Yeah I guess it is?" She said as her brows raised to express her confusion.

"I thought you would be more.. taken aback."

"Trust me. I am. I'm in such awe that I can't explain what I'm witnessing.. I mean I'm at the Citadel, located in the Serpent Nebula.. Right now! Thank you for bringing me here."

"You're welcome, Tiny. Shall we get something to eat while we wait?"

I nodded & we entered a restaurant that was nearby. The bartender behind the counter greeted us as we walked in.



"General." He said to Faria as he cut his eyes to me & gave me a death stare.

"Stand down, Taz. You know those days are over for me.. We're here for holiday." She relayed.

"Understood. Have a seat & someone will be with you shortly."

Just as soon as we sat down, the Bay called my name on the intercom, just like Kork said.

"So much for that.." I said as we got up & headed back out of the restaurant.

It was time to find out what new possibility could await me after getting dragged all the way out here.
