The Lakers matched up against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, in a rematch of last season second round playoff series, which the Mavericks went on to win in six games, 4-2. But coming into the game, the Lakers who were riding high on a five-game winning streak, have lost three straight and Dallas, coming off a loss to the Warriors in the knockout stage of the In-season Tournament were looking for their fourth win in their last five games. Luka Doncic the Mavericks with 30 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists and Kyrie Irving finished with 24 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals leading the Mavericks to a 115-107 victory over the Lakers. P.J. Washington and Tim Hardaway Jr. each added 15 points a piece. LeBron James led the Lakers with 28 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block, who lost their fourth straight game. Anthony Davis had 19 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Back-to-back losses at home to Portland and New Orleans (both games James sat out) followed by the loss to the Jazz on Monday and tonight against Dallas, the Lakers need to regroup and refocus as they continue to battle in the tough Western Conference. The win moved the Mavericks to 12-9 and dropped the Lakers to 12-10.
