Lakers put complete game together for much needed win over Warriors

The Western Conference needs to be put on notice. Sooner or later the Lakers were bound to have a game where everything was clicking and everyone was in sync. That came Monday night against the Golden State Warriors. Just six days earlier these two teams met in Los Angeles following a three-team blockbuster trade that brought Trae Young and Kelly Olynyk as the two major trade acquisitions by the Lakers. The Warriors spoiled the first game for the Lakers new big three, but tonight it was time to return the favor. Anthony Davis led the way with 31 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks while hitting 14-of-24 shots from the floor. LeBron James finished with 28 points, 18 rebounds, six assists and one block and Trae Young scored 26 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out nine assists in the Lakers 112-103 victory over Golden State. For the Warriors they were led in scoring by Steph Curry, who finished with 25 points, four rebounds, 10 assists and two steals. Curry had his shooting troubles tonight, going 9-of-28 from the field and 7-of-20 from the three-point line. Jonathan Kuminga finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Kevon Looney recorded a double-double with 15 point and 10 rebounds. The Lakers and Warriors were tied at the end of the third quarter and the Warriors struck first in the fourth, but the Lakers gathered themselves and went on a nice run that gave them the lead that they would not give up.

The Los Angeles Lakers made their way to the desert to take on the Phoenix Suns. This was the third meeting of the season between the two clubs as both split the first two games, each winning at home. Riding a two-game winning streak, the Lakers have begun showing just what kind of contender they could potentially become. The Phoenix Suns on the other hand had their ups and downs last year with their big three, but this year under Mike Budenholzer they have captured the top spot currently in the Western Conference and they remained at the top after defeating the Lakers 116-108. Kevin Durant poured in a game-high 41 points, knocking down 15-of-28 shots from the field, including 6-of-12 from the three-point line. Durant also had 11 rebounds, two assists and four blocks. Devin Booker put in 26 points, hitting 11-of-22 shots and also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out 10 assists. LeBron James led the Lakers with 24 points, four rebounds, nine assists, one steal and one block. Trae Young put up another quality scoring game with 23 points, three rebounds and six assists. Anthony Davis looked a step slow out on the court tonight. Davis finished with 13 points and 17 rebounds but was an eyesore 1-of-6 from the free throw line.

The Los Angeles Lakers entered tonight's game hoping to end their brief three-game road trip on a positive note, but the Denver Nuggets had other plans. Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with 31 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists while reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double, 29 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists as the Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 115-92. The Lakers end their road trip having lost the last two games. Anthony Davis recorded his first 20/20 game of the season with 24 points and 20 rebounds. LeBron James finished with 22 points but was 7-of-26 from the field with 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. Trae Young also had a bad shooting night, going 4-of-15 from the floor and finished with 10 points and 13 assists.
