Spurs trade center Charles Bassey to Memphis for 2025 second round pick
The San Antonio Spurs have traded center Charles Bassey to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick. This move comes as the Grizzlies look to address a pressing need in their frontcourt following the season-ending Achilles injury to starting center Jaren Jackson Jr. Bassey, known for his rebounding and defensive presence, will provide Memphis with valuable depth as they look to bolster their interior defense and adjust to the loss of their star big man.

In a related roster update, the Spurs released two-way players David Duke Jr. and Riley Minix to make room for free-agent signing Matt Ryan. Duke Jr. and Minix had been assigned to the Austin Spurs, the team’s G League affiliate, before their release.
