Lakers Big Three combine for 101 points
Recap of Lakers/Mavericks game played on February 20, 2025
If there is one team that the Los Angeles Lakers don't want to see any more this season it's the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks have beaten the Lakers eight out of the last ten times these two teams have played. That includes tonight in overtime, 137-131. Luka Doncic knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game up and send it to overtime. Doncic led the Mavericks with 41 points, four rebounds, 13 assists, two steals and four blocks. Kyrie Irving had 26 points, two rebounds, six assists and one steal, but was 8-of-25 from the floor. Daniel Gafford finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and three blocks. LeBron James returned from missing the last two games scored 52 points, hitting 22-of-37 from the field including nine rebounds, six assists, 1 steal and two blocks. Trae Young was aggressive from the outset and finished with 35 points, three rebounds, five assists and one steal. Buddy Hield had 15 points off the bench, knocking down 3-of-3 from the three-point line. Anthony Davis added 14 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, one steal and four blocks. The last thing the Lakers needed was to start the post all-star break with a loss as they remain on the outside looking in from the play-in tournament.
