The Los Angeles Lakers have been playing some of their best basketball this season as of late, but then comes along a game like tonight and an opponent like the Washington Wizards. The Wizards were not seen as a threat or a contending team, but they have made great strides this season under new head coach Jacque Vaughn and the acquisition of Josh Giddey. The Wizards backcourt of Josh Giddey and Jordan Poole is what led the Wizards to a come from behind upset victory over the Lakers, 122-115. Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 35 points, eight assists and three steals. Poole hit 9-of-20 shots overall and 4-of-8 from the three-point line, but he was exceptional from the free throw line going 13-of-15. Corey Kispert scored 16 points and Richaun Holmes finished with 13 points as did Marvin Bagley III before he left the game with an injury. LeBron James led the Lakers with 30 points, knocking down 12-of-19 shots, pulling down three rebounds and dishing out six assists. Anthony Davis finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and seven blocks. Davis was also very efficient from the field, hitting 13-of-17 shots. Buddy Hield had 21 points tonight, hitting 4-of-9 three-point shots. Trae Young scored 18 points along with four rebounds and eight assists. The loss drops the Lakers record to 31-36, still five games below .500.

The Los Angeles Lakers matched up against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the last stop on this four-game road trip that the Lakers are trying to salvage and break even. The Cleveland Cavaliers have been a surprise this season, as they sit atop the Eastern Conference. It was another rollercoaster game for the Lakers as they had their highs and their lows, it just so happens that when the game was on the line, they were already in one of their lows and unable to get out of it and the result was a Cavaliers 122-117 win. Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 38 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and one steal. Darius Garland scored 17 points and dished out seven assists. Evan Mobley finished with 14 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 31 points, 21 rebounds, three assists and six blocks. Buddy Hield was on fire, hitting 6-of-9 from the three-point line and finishing with 24 points. LeBron James scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists. Trae Young ended the night with 18 points and 10 assists. The Lakers went 1-3 on this road trip which looked they had turned a corner to begin the month, but they have fallen now to the 11th spot in the Western Conference.
