Lakers take 2-1 series lead over Nuggets after career night
Buddy Hield makes history from behind the arc
Recap of Nuggets/Lakers game played on April 24, 2025

Buddy Hield came off the bench against the Denver Nuggets and proceeded to make NBA history. Buddy Hield scored a playoff career-high 44 points, hitting 15-of-32 shots from the field, but the other record he set was going 14-of-29 from the three-point line. Hield's 14 three-pointers became the most three-pointers made in a game by a player in the playoffs which had previously been held by Klay Thompson. Hield's three-point shots gave the Lakers enough of a cushion when the game got down to the wire, but thanks to Hield and his incredible perimeter shooting, the Lakers defeated the Nuggets 123-116 and took a 2-1 series lead. Anthony Davis was no slouch himself. Davis got the game started on a good note. Davis made his first twelve shots in the game and finished with 35 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and two blocks. LeBron James put up 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. Trae Young added 14 points and 13 assists. The Lakers as a team made 16 three-pointers (Hield had 14 of those 16). Nikola Jokic nearly match Hield in the points department, leading the Nuggets with 40 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Jokic shot 16-of-22 from the field and a perfect 8-of-8 from the line. Reggie Jackson, who started in the place of the injured Jamal Murray finished with 21 points, four rebounds and nine assists. Aaron Gordon had 18 points, eight rebounds and one block and Michael Porter Jr. added 14 points and six rebounds. The Nuggets will look to tie the series up on Sunday.
