Casemiro out as United Rebuild Continues


Casemiro had a stellar first season at the club, but was very poor last year.

Zaire-Emery and Toby Collyer appear to have a hold on United's central defensive midfielder position going forward, leaving no room for the expensive and declining Casemiro. The 32 year old Brazilian shunned offers from the Saudi League, citing a desire to still play in one of the top leagues in Europe. He has gotten his wish, staying in the premier league but joining West Ham United for just under £30M.

Tyrell Malacia Continues United's Summer Exodus


Tyrell Malacia did not feature at all for United last season.

Malacia had a 2023-24 season much maligned by injury and the club no longer trusts the 24 year old Dutch left-back to stay fit. As a result he has been moved on for a small fee of £10.7M to Aston Villa. Kieran McKenna believes that Alvaro Fernandez is ready to start at left-back for the club in the Premier League level after a loan spell at Benfica last season, and Harry Amass can provide adequate cover in the position.

22 year old center-back Jarrad Branthwaite is a massive player standing 6'5, but technically gifted, athletic and one of the brightest defensive prospects in English football. United are very excited to have secured the Everton player's signature for a very reasonable price. With Branthwaite's deal expiring at the end of this season, the Toffees were forced to accept a cut rate feed for the young star. Branthwaite figures to start next to INEOS' first signing, Leny Yoro, to form a young and dynamic center-back pairing that can lead the club into the future.
